I'm not an expert, but I found the archeological exhibition (which is really the key part of the museum) really impressive (e.g. the oldest wind musical instrument in the world, tens of thousand years old! tools more than a hundred thousand years old!).

He visitat la part d’història d’Eslovenia, que comença en el paleolític i segueix fins al segle 17-18. És força complet en quant a les explicacions amb molta lectura, mapes i audioguia. Val la pena!

Natural history and national museum all in one place, can get a student ticket for both which is nice. Sometimes I was a bit lost on where to go but got a free audio guide that worked on my phone.

Visited the museum as part of an organized event. I was so positively surprised with the exhibits and overall experience. Absolutely amazing, many interesting unique pieces, wonderfully explained, you can use the audio guide or guided tour (many languages available) but all of the panels are also in English so it's no issue to walk around on your own. Time flew by very quickly, it was a blast. There is also a part on the outside and an exhibit behind the museum. As it's located very central, it is very easy to find and come by by foot. There is a vending machine inside available with drinks and even coffee (not great not terrible). Everyone was super nice and all the staff speak English. Besides the building as such being architecturally interesting and beautiful on its own ;), I definitely recommend as a must visit when in the city.

Noč muzejev je odlična priložnost za raziskovanje Narodnega muzeja. Pa tudi na kak drug dan, ne bo nič narobe če se odločite obiskati muzej. Pot po muzeju je zelo tekoča ter sproščena in kar je odlično je, da je zanimivo tudi 9letnikom, ki jih nič ne zanima 😊 We had a fun night at the museum yesterday. It is a great learning enviroment for kids and adults. Will be back in the winter 😏

Great student discount, magnificent natural history exposition. The permanent exposition was also great, we saw the 60,000 year old bear flute with music playing of a musician who played a replicated version.
