When I want good coffee I pass by Cogito, as a small and independent company that I know well. I appreciate the efforts they do to source high quality coffee beans without abusing coffee growers. I am also looking for a place where at least a smile (as a minimum) is offered. This morning I arrived 4 min before it opens doors and was going to wait outside but saw the door opened so I attempt to walk in, noticing the attendance's activity of getting the space ready I asked her if I could enter, she frowns and mumbles something signalling her irritation. I wasn't really sure what that meant, but my body got the universal signal of discontent and unwelcomeness from that. I could have stayed and smile back, because you never know what the persons are going through, but unfortunately this was not the first time. I understand the difficulties of finding good quality staff in hospitality in Croatia and lets not talk about keeping them, but basic manners should be part of every decent person, and lack of them in Cogito Deželićeva (specially when it is not the first time) should not be the stain in the good trajectory of a pioneering company who dared bringing high quality coffee beans for the best coffee taste in Zagreb. From my side, I will try to smile back next time to see what happens, from her side and simple very assertive: 'no problem, if you give me 5 min I'll be with you', would have been the beginning of a 5 star review not the end of a 1 star one.

Nice little coffee place in the quiet place of Zagreb's City center. The coffee was great and well priced and the service was excellent. Cogito coffee shop is the perfect place to relax after a stressful day, with a hot coffee and a book to read.
