That was a great cup od coffee. The beans were great, we tried Kenya a Costa Rica. Roasted right there! This place is from “the same shelf” like The Barn or Naughty Dog. It’s really all about the coffee, no snacks on the menu.

Bio sam tamo samo jednom do sada, ali čini se da je Matteo upio sve globalno znanje o slavnom grahu, njegovom pečenju i kuhanju, iako sam siguran da će inzistirati da ima još mnogo toga za naučiti. Napravio je paradisical doppio espresso za mene, dva cappuccina za moje prijatelje, a ja sam odnio kući vrećicu svježe prženog El Salvador mahunarki. I was only there once so far, but Matteo seems to have absorbed all global knowledge about the illustrious bean, its roasting and brewing, though I'm sure he will insist there is much more to learn. He pulled a paradisical doppio espresso for me, two perfect cappuccinos for my friends, and I took home a bag of freshly roasted El Salvador whole beans.

Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass man versteckt einen so tollen Coffee Shop findet. Klein aber fein und wirklich familiär. Man merkt, dass der Inhaber ein echter Kaffeeliebhaber ist. Alles wird mit viel Luebe zubereitet und der Service und die Qualität stimmt. Beraten wird man auch fantastisch. Ist also absolut einen Abstecher wert. Auch veganer werden hier Dank Oat Milk Varianten glücklich 🙂

We stopped here during our spring break. As huge fans of coffee we always look for new options - in Istria there are not that many. But this place is like an oasis: originally a roaster, they also offer drinking in in a very cosy nice garden. The owner is a coffee pro and also friendly, we had a nice chat about his place and plans. We definitely recommend to stop by! He also has accommodation to offer. To the owner: we wish you all the best! We hope your plans in Pula will come true!

My husband and I stopped over on Sunday after contacting Matteo through the Bora Nera Instagram account page. Not only where he and his family very knowledgable about coffee and other natural plants and fruits, they are super passionate about what they do and they are also very lovely and friendly people. After moving from Zagreb to Pula, we missed our specialty coffee cafes and me being lactose intolerant, makes it even more tricky in Istria for me to enjoy good coffee with milk. But they also had non-cows milk and the coffee was outstanding. We are from Melbourne, so we are very particular about our speciality coffee, and Bora Nera is one of the best we have tried in Croatia. They also have a nice garden with the sea in the far distance so you can enjoy your awesome coffee moment in a tranquil environment.

If you are into Specialty Coffee and are in Istria, this is the place to go to. We did the ‘Degustation 2’ course, which was a 2 hour introduction to the world of Specialty Coffee. Mateo and Erika welcomed us with open arms into their house and, apart from sharing their broad exepertise, we could taste different amazing coffees. It was a real pleasure to see these 2 passionate people talk about Specialty Coffee. We can’t wait to try their freshly roasted coffee at our own home!
