Wir haben die Vila Herberstein am Valentinstag 2023 zum ersten Mal besucht. Es gab an diesem Abend auch ein 4 Gang Menü welches wir auch gewählt haben ( Fisch oder Fleisch) Unser Fazit: ein sehr gelungener Abend in einem nicht alltäglichem Ambiente.
Das Service war unglaublich aufmerksam und herzlich. Die Speisen, überhaupt in Bezug auf Preis /Leistung waren sensationell. Der Oktopus Salat war super zart, die Pasta mit Lobster war ein Gericht für sich. Der Hauptgang, Brasse mit Scampi, Jakobsmuschel auf Erbsen Püree war eine sehr delikate
Variante. Die gewählte Flasche Wein von der provisorischen Weinliste war dann doch nicht verfügbar, aber mit einem charmanten Lächeln wurde uns ein anderer Pinot gris angeboten, ein Top Wein um kleines Geld. (ich bin selbst Winzer)
Wir kommen sicher wieder vorbei, auf dem Weg nach Italien oder Kroatien ist die Vila 15 km von der Autobahn entfernt. Bieten auch sensationelle Mittagsmenü an. Da lohnt sich der kleine Umweg.

Zelo prijeten ambient in odlična hrana po dostopnih cenah. Tudi osebje je bilo zelo prijazno. Terasa je dostopna z invalidskim vozičkom, na vhodu v restavracijo pa je več stopnic. Vsekakor priporočam!

Popolnoma neprofesionalno obnašanje natakarjev, ki so pozabili omeniti, da v notranjosti vile gostijo poroko in ne utegnejo streči na terasi - posledično sva čakala eno uro na hrano, ki je ni bilo, na koncu pa so nama zaračunali popito pijačo, ki je sploh nisva pila (pila sem Cedevito, zaračunali so sok Fructal, razlaga tega pa je bila, da Cedevito nimajo in sem v bistvu plačala en njihov tester!). Sem zelo razočarana!

Our visit to Vila Herberstein revealed a sad impact that COVID had on the hospitality industry everywhere. As we were told by our waiter, a lot of staff both in kitchen and service were laid off due to prolonged closure of the restaurant. This review is a reflection of that; I can only hope that they will recover to what made them a restaurant to visit in that part of Slovenia.||The lunch started with two good home baked breads (white and buckwheat with walnuts) and a cheese spread with way too much garlic in it. The wine list does not exist any more and the waiter (the three sommeliers from the web page are obviously no longer there) recited a short list of wines that they (still) had. Wines by the glass were poured at the bar (the guest can't even see the bottle), bottles are opened at the table, but the wine is not offered to be tasted. When you order a new wine, they change the wine only, but the glasses stay the same.||The tasting menus are gone as well. Instead, they offer lunches (26 EUR per person) that are actually a great value. The menu is split into a "venison" and "other" (predominantly) fish part. The dishes are quite classic - innovativity was replaced by struggle for survival.||The standard item on Slovenian weekend lunch menu - mushroom soup - was good. Plenty of mushrooms, a lot of fresh, properly cooked vegetables, and little buckwheat dumplings that added to flavor and texture.||Both meats - guineafowl and veal - were perfectly cooked. Guineafowl had interesting sides: spiced chopped pistachios, grilled pumpkin, a potato dish with chopped spring onions, and broad beans. Unfortunately, the plating of a nice dish was very poor, in-line with a countryside inn and not a good restaurant.||Veal was accompanied by a good mascarpone risotto and dull boiled vegetables. Again, the plating was very poor.||The desert - a variety of "štruklji" was the weakest part of the lunch. They were undercooked, but when we mentioned that to the waiter, there was no response to that at all, just "it happens".||Definitely a great value, decent food, very average service and poor plating. Let's hope that they keep what is good and improve what went wrong soon.
