Konoba Menego - Autentična Dalmacija u Srcu Hvara
Konoba Menego smještena je u slikovitom starom dijelu grada Hvara, poznatom kao Groda. Ova jedinstvena konoba otvorila je svoja vrata 1999. godine, a svake godine dočekuje goste od 1. travnja do 1. studenog.
Održavanje Tradicije
Prostor u kojem se nalazi konoba ima bogatu povijest; pripadao je majčinoj obitelji Karković-Trentin. Nakon temeljite obnove, koja je otkrila novčić iz 14. stoljeća u zidu, konoba je oživjela tradiciju ugostiteljstva koja datira kroz generacije. Dida Dinko, poznati vinar, bio je ključna figura u povijesti ovog mjesta, gdje su njegovi kupci dolazili sa cijelog otoka Hvara kako bi uživali u njegovim vinima.

Wonderful dinner here. Food was incredible. I tried the pasticada with gnocchi (tuna) per our waiter’s recommendation and it was the best meal I had in Croatia. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere inside with the stone walls and floor. Highly recommended.

Comida cara e ruim. Entrada com pão velho, presunto de supermercado e queijo duro. Pedi um gnocchi com camarão que não veio camarão e o prato muito mal servido. Além disso o dono mal educado. Não recomendo, pior restaurante que fui em Hvar. O garçom Mário foi extremamente legal e simpático, ponto bem positivo.

The restaurant is so cute and the food is fantastic. Best meal I have had so far in Croatia. We had The Tuna, Octopus salad and home made lemonade and brandy fig for dessert.

Essen war okay, aber nichts besonderes. Portionen viel zu klein, die Hauptgericht sind eher wie eine Vorspeise. Brot muss extra bezahlt werden und war trocken und fest als ob es von vorgestern gewesen wäre. Preislich hvar typisch hoch, für die Portionen aber zu teuer.

Realistically, a 3.5 - It's only fair to the restaurant though that I explain why. I was sat at the back of an empty room in the very back corner, no reason I couldn't have been seated on the same size table closer to everyone else, so this felt a little weird. I'm not really sure who my server was, it started off as a woman but then changed over time. She recommended the shrimp gnocchi, and I expected a main sized dish, but what turned up was something between a starter and main size, it was small and it genuinely made me wonder if I'd accidentally just ordered a starter or something. The speed at which this was brought out to me was so fast that I'd barely started my wine. I think there's a sweet spot with a sit down meal where you should have time to start to feel hungry, but it shouldn't take forever, this was too fast. I also ordered bread (which helped to actually fill me up), but when they took my plate away of the gnocchi, the new server took the bread, despite it not being finished. I want to be clear, the food tasted good, the wine was also better value than any other wine I've come across at restaurants in the town, and I have no complaints overall on price, as it seems Croatian food prices are going through the roof all over, but I came here hoping to leave feeling full and satisfied, and instead I feel like I now need to head to get something else to eat. The desserts menu is very limited, and I decided to skip the cakes option as it would have put me over the amount of cash I had on me (it is a cash only venue). I do apologise to the owners for having to leave a review that has a negative impact, as everyone at the restaurant seemed very friendly, but hopefully my honestly and detailed feedback here, help to inform in some way, even if it's my own personal taste.
