Beautiful and Refreshing Experience at the Source of the Kupa River We visited the Kupa River source in Risnjak National Park via the entrance at the village of Razloge. The access road to the parking lot is paved and well-maintained, making it suitable for all types of vehicles. Parking is free, but there is an entrance fee to the National Park, which is fair considering the preservation of the area. At the Razloge parking area, there’s only one picnic bench under a small shelter, so if you’re planning a picnic, bring your own setup — it might already be taken. 🥾 Hiking: There are a few different trails leading to the source. We took the steepest and fastest one — I didn’t find it too difficult, but it could depend on your fitness level and weather conditions. It’s a short hike, surrounded by peaceful forest, but quite steep in parts. 💧 Bring bottles: The water at the source is clean, cold, and drinkable — a real treat! Swimming is not allowed at the source, and there are no extra facilities on the trail we chose. 🦮 Dogs: Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times. 🌿 The source itself is stunning — calm, crystal clear, and surrounded by beautiful untouched nature. We saw a sign pointing toward a nearby restaurant via another trail, but didn’t explore that route. ⏳ While the place is definitely worth visiting, it’s not really a full-day activity — more of a half-day trip or a short nature escape. Still, totally worth the experience if you’re in the area!
