Oh wow — the taste of the water here is just perfect, and the temperature is exactly right — refreshing but not too cold. I honestly lost count of how many liters we drank. Located right in front of the main gate, this fountain is not only super convenient but also a lifesaver on a sunny day. It's also large enough to offer shade, making it a perfect spot to cool down and rest for a bit.

Bella, pero poco apreciable por su tamaño, el reducido espacio alrededor, depende el momento del dia la posicion del sol no juega a su favor (conviene mas el horario diurno) y ademas, como casi todo dentro de las murallas, la cantidad de gente. Aunque bueno, es muy positivo el hecho de poder cargar tu botella de agua potable y bien fresca (mas que la que hay en la mayoria de las heladeras de los comercios de la ciudad) y gratis! Aunque no lo intenten de noche: aparentemente, la fuente solo da agua de dia!

Eine der Hauptattraktionen der Stadt Dubrovnik. Kaum kommt man durch das große Tor in diese fantastische Stadt geht es direkt los mit einem Highlight nach dem anderen. Das abgebildete Bauwerk ist der Onofrio-Brunnen. Der Große Onofrio-Brunnen wurde zwischen 1438 und 1444 von dem neapolitanischen Baumeister Onofrio della Cava errichtet. Er war Teil eines Aquäduktsystems, das die Stadt Dubrovnik mit Wasser versorgte und in Belagerungszeiten 16 Wasserspeicher speiste. Bei einem schweren Erdbeben im Jahr 1667 verlor der Brunnen seinen ursprünglichen figuralen Schmuck. Das Wasser aus dem Onofrio-Brunnen ist trinkbar und kann zum Auffüllen von Flaschen genutzt werden, was besonders in den heißen Sommermonaten erfrischend ist.
