This place is an actual hidden gem. People kept telling me about it, but I didn't really have any solid details. So, the day I decided to visit for the first time, a rainy afternoon with only a handful of people around the town, I accidentally entered the Pod Skalco Pub next door. I passed the entrance to the museum beforehand, but instead of reading the info panels around waist height I was looking up to see any signs and names, sort of a fancy glass door entrance. I looked around the pub and decided that it was not my destination, tho probably a future pit stop. I saw it's name on the way out. Anyways, I went back to the museum door since the map indicated that way, and this time saw the info panel that says free entrance through the museum. The lady at the ticket desk politely directed me to the entrance as if it hasn't been her millionth time this year.
The place looks cold when you enter for the first time but feels warm in a minute. The cloudy day light might have been giving that vibe but I loved the way that light was bouncing off the white buildings in the courtyard. The location is very interesting, private, but also has a large window, !, to the lives of a few people at the same time.
I am just a visitor from Italy and so it had been at least a whole year since I last tasted filter coffee. I went for a chemex with Kenya AA Gatuya beans. The aroma was very refreshing. I knew I loved it; I just needed to be reminded of the fruity notes.
I was wearing a yellow sweatshirt that day. Realised that I unconsciously went for one of the yellow tables when I sat and looked down for a moment and couldn't tell where the table ends and my belly begins. So I am adding that photo just for the smiles.
All in all a good experience. They are polite and friendly, and the service is fast. I would say the prices are reasonable. Light music allows to chat comfortably. Next time I wish to try the cakes and pies on display; I've been told that they are really good as well.

A hidden gem in the City Museum of Ljubljana. They serve a great verity of specialty coffees and know how to recommend what to order.
There is also a coffee shop where you can buy Chemex and other specialty coffee makers and equipment.

If it isn't the best coffee shop in Ljubljana it's certainly in the top three! There's a great range of beans for all tastes and everything I have ordered has been well made (whether it was espresso or V60 or Chemex). The staff are really knowledgeable, power sockets are provided at many tables for your laptop, the place is bright and comfortable. Seating is also provided in the museum's courtyard, which is really welcome in warmer months. Also, there's cake! Really great cake.

Located inside the City Museum, they offer a variety of coffees and various preparation methods. Definitely worth a try if you want to try new things. Decent desserts as well. Very nice interior.

The staff is not not very friendly and the fact that there is only table service is rather odd for a cafe.
The place is LOUD due to the giant glass walls so don’t come here to read.

Sehr zu empfehlen! Spezialitätenkaffee (sprich Sortenrein, entsprechend individuell geröstet) von Leuten die ihn auch zubereiten können.
