Just returned from a family holiday including 2 teen girls. Having read some of the recent scathing reviews we were very hesitant and apprehensive about coming here. But I must say although I do agree with a lot of the negative points in the reviews, we have had a lovely holiday.||Firstly it seems the hotel mainly caters and prioritises European clientele over the British. The food was mainly catered towards German/ Austrian/French customers so if you have small children , picky eaters and favour English traditional food then this definately isn't the place for you!  However I love trying something new and different on holiday and we all, including my non-adventurous teens, generally found something to eat and enjoy, and the food was generally of a high standard although very limited and repetitive with not much change from lunch to dinner and day to day. So we ate out quite regularly in the evenings at the harbour which is a really lovely place to go and only just over 10 mins walk but if you are paying extra for the all inclusive experience then you really shouldn't have to be doing this! Also as said a lot of things within the resort aren't included, they mislead in listing's boasting of a number of pools , bars & restaurants but in theory you can only use one restaurant you are allocated to without paying. A couple of the pools they charge for too and they even tried to charge us one night for using the indoor bar instead of the outdoor bar because it was nearest at the time and not as busy. Coffee, towels, parking, superior sunbeds , sunbeds on the beach, sports, branded drinks that aren't just a mix of syrup and sugar , use of the safe , the list goes on ... all extra! Which means finding a sunbed is a no hope unless you want to be getting up at 3am I am guessing. Even at 6.30am we were still unable to get 4 sunbeds right on the outskirts of the complex yet towelled sunbeds remained empty and unused for most of the day. We even spotted towels out before we went to bed some nights. I'm sorry but for my once yearly holiday that I have worked hard for, I do not want to be having to be getting up at dawn to be able to find somewhere to relax for the day. Yet some guests seemed to be hogging and getting away with having 2 sets of sunbeds some in the sun and some in the shade to alternate while we had to sit on the dirty floor. By all accounts from hearing similar stories the hotel doesn't seem to care or have any type of policy to stop this. There clearly aren't enough ( free) sunbeds for the amounts of guests they have,  there is space on the beach which is fine but again you have to pay for this! Our rep was aware of our concerns and requested the customer service manager to contact us a number of times throughout our stay but unsurprisingly no one even tried to speak to us. However another couple we met who made a complaint were given sunbeds vouchers for the beach all week so it seems you may really need to make a scene to get any sort of help back , silently grumbling ( which most people were doing ) gets you no where.||Rooms and communal areas are all very new, modern and clean and have clearly been recently renovated. There's lots of different zones and sunbathing / seating areas as opposed to being a large open planned space which i really liked but it takes a while to find your bearings and not get lost. They do supply you with a map on arrival for this reason.  We had 2 double rooms which were slightly compact for 2 which we expected from previous reviews however they are way too small for 3 so not sure why they have 3 beds in them because there is nowhere near enough storage for 3 people. The set up of having the clothes hanging rail over the dressing table mirror is the most bizarrest idea I have ever seen. Hang your clothes or use the dressing table ( which was also a bedside table)  but you can't do both ! I always wonder why rooms can't just have a few more wall hooks and shelves up, for minimal cost and outlay would make such a difference to space and comfort rather than everything having to be on the floor to trip over.  We used the spare bed for extra storage, but if this was in use then there would be absolutely no space at all. Also agree that staff on reception need a bit of training in customer service ( with exception from one young lady can't remember her name but began with S - she was the only one who smiled !) They really don't appear to enjoy their jobs at all as looked very miserable 24/7 and were always very abrupt and unhelpful when asked a question as if any effort was far too much trouble. We had a mini-emergency in the room and my husband went down to ask for assistance but despite trying to say he needed help quickly he was just purposefully ignored and left til last to help. There were always long queues to get a drink at the outside bar as service was so painfully slow. We didnt have too much to do with the animation team but they seemed to work hard all day and night. Evening entertainment was really poor, the animation team shows i am sorry are so awful they are funny and one night's entertainment is a group walk into Supetar which you are more than capable doing yourself  (and the whole point of All Inclusive is to stay in and use the facilities you have paid in advance for ! ) so definately doing everything to save money again there ! Its a shame because the complex itself is positioned in a very nice area right on the beachfront with beautiful views and sunsets and a short walk from all the action and buzz of the harbour and absolutely could be a little slice of paradise if the Waterman branding just put more effort in, open up everything to everyone and didn't try to consistently get more money out of their guests. The location, hotel and complex on the whole is perfect , the overall uncaring and lazy running of it and penny pinching however let's it down massively.  Someone said to me that Croatia wasn't really the place to go All Inclusive and now I see why. We loved Croatia , Brac & Supetar and will definately come back to Croatia and recommend to anyone, it truly is stunning and we made the most of our holiday getting out and about seeing the island and country but was more than ready to come home and won't use a Waterman hotel again ! On appearance this could absolutely be a 4 star hotel but sorry on service and facilities provided it is 3 star at best !  ||

Hotel splnil naše očakávania. Bolo nám tam veľmi dobre. Izba pekná, čistá nie veľká ale stačila. Upratovanie izieb denne. Milý a priateľský personál. Rezort je pomerne veľký a chvíľu trvá kým sa zorientujete ale prostredie je pekné, veľa zelene, veľa bazénov. Pláž akurát. Nebola preplnená. More krásne, čisté, niekedy celkom vlny. Jedlo výborné, široký výber, chutná strava z čersrvých surovín. Veľmi pekná reštaurácia Antonio s výhľadom na more. Miešané alko a nealko drinky zdarma v rámci AllInclusive. Nič nám nechýbalo, radi sa vrátime znova. Pozdravujem Nina čašníka. Veľmi príjemný personál v celom rezorte. Točená zmrzlina pre deti denne okrem nedele. Jeden ztých lepších rezortov v HR. Brač pekný ostorv , Zlatni Rat nádherný.

Our recent stay at the Waterman Hotel Kaktus in Brac, Croatia, presented a mixed experience. While the hotel offers a charming atmosphere with its various 'nooks and crannies' that prevent it from feeling overwhelmingly large, several fixable issues significantly detracted from our stay.||First off, Tui as an our travel provider…||Booking this 'all-inclusive' holiday through TUI left us feeling there's room for significant improvement in their transparency and expectation management:||It was frustrating to discover upon arrival that essential items like beach towels and the in-room safe incurred extra charges (€20 per towel, with €5 refundable). This information was on their website, but for an 'all-inclusive,' it feels deceptive not to incorporate these costs upfront. Many guests, including us, were caught off guard and found this a sour start.||The journey from Split Airport to the hotel involves a transfer to the seaport, a ferry to Brac, and then another transfer to the hotel – a 3-hour journey we were prepared for. While we appreciated being the sole passengers in a private car to the seaport (a pleasant surprise compared to an expected coach), the driver's reckless speeding was concerning, especially with a 6-year-old. Our late-night arrival was further complicated by conflicting information: we were advised to disembark the ferry early to avoid other tour coaches, only to be directed onto one of those very coaches upon arrival in Brac, despite expecting a personal transfer. This lack of clear communication led to a long queue and reaching our room past 1 AM.||On-site, the TUI representative frequently deflected issues by stating this wasn't their 'normal hotel.' This felt like a convenient excuse rather than a commitment to resolving guest concerns.||In terms of Hotel Kaktus itself…||Despite the hotel's pleasant aesthetic, several issues impacted our comfort:||1. Our toilet 'ghost-flushed' constantly, refilling every five minutes, day and night. This also caused significant temperature fluctuations in the shower, making it difficult and unsafe to shower our daughter. Despite reporting this issue daily to reception, with repeated assurances, it remained unfixed throughout our entire holiday. This was extremely disappointing.||2. As noted in other reviews, the food was largely uninspired and repetitive. Variety was minimal (e.g., peas or carrots, mashed or roasted potatoes), and the desserts were particularly underwhelming. We wished we had opted for half-board to explore local restaurants.||3. While our room was comfortable, the balcony was surprisingly small, with only enough space for one chair and a small table. For a three-person room, this was impractical and limited our ability to enjoy the outdoor space together.||4. The complimentary alcoholic drinks were notably weak/watered down. The option to purchase branded alternatives felt out of place in an 'all-inclusive' setting.||All that said, there are positives….||A major highlight was the kids' club, which our 6-year-old thoroughly enjoyed. The nightly mini-disco at 8:30 was a particular favourite.||The hotel's location offers an enjoyable walk into Supetar town, with its picturesque harbour. We loved exploring the area and its many restaurants. It’s also right on the beach and you have stunning views of mainland Croatia.||Overall verdict:||While Brac and Supetar are destinations we would gladly revisit, we would likely not return to the Waterman Hotel Kaktus, especially not through TUI. The persistent room issue, combined with the other challenges, made it difficult to reconcile our experience with the hotel's four-star rating. We would consider booking directly with accommodation in the future.

Was nervous to come after seeing bad reviews. It just goes to show people have different perspectives! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here 7 days all inclusive. Booked independently a superior double with 2 separate beds for teens also. I asked via email if this was refurbished room & was told yes. We were given a Park room ( small bungalow) in the Tui part ( not sure if that was because if asked for separate beds for teens or refurbished room or if pure luck) and it was great! Separate bedroom, large bathroom & then large open plan kitchen/ diner with sleeping area, 2 separate beds for kids, sleeping in an L shaped against walls. Small patio out the front ( in shade but we were happier to keep room cool) but also great aircon. Restaurant (Tui & Mama Rosie were good - we went by mistake to Mama Rosie 1st night but told, very nicely after we had eaten we were in wrong restaurant) Tui was bigger with more choice, both had big verandas with sea views. Staff were attentive & sweet. Food was great for us ( we weren’t expecting burgers & chips type food) more authentic & good quality & always had loads of salad choice, pizza & pasta if kids fancied more plain food. Hand cut chips at lunchtime were so nice too & ice cream at pool snack area was fab! The drinks were great, we didn’t miss Coca Cola, the version they had tasted good ( with or without vodka/rum) Beer was good. Cocktails & Mocktails were great too, lots of choice! The grounds are beautiful, ( no wired fence, only a normal fence to show boundaries from prom!) It is well kept, lovely flowers, olive & palm trees, pools were great. It’s not far to walk from the bay to the longer stretch of beach through the complex in 5 mins. Location is fantastic, the bay is shallow, has pedelos, inflatable assault course (€15 1 hour) & Bennys bar has 2 huge slides (€6 6 slides) you need water shoes but can buy them there. The other beaches on the open sea are beautiful too, crystal clear water, jetty’s to jump, & the beach 10 minutes walk further along is sandy & shallow for ages. You don’t need to use sunbeds, just take a towel or buy a mat. Supetar is beautiful, lovely restaurants, markets at night. It is a perfect location for families from all over the world! The only thing I’d say needs to be better is communication on arrival & provide a map to show you where you are staying & where you can go/ eat, we went all over the resort drinking / snacks / kids game’s different pools etc, but weren’t sure if we were supposed to. Guy showed us room & where to eat but told us wrong restaurant at first so it’s a little confusing but staff were helpful just ask. They should update pictures of rooms also as it’s hard to understand what room is like & where children will sleep. Would recommend & don’t worry about bad reviews. I booked well in advance & got a good deal based on comparison to self catering apartments in same area, location wins for me, close to water, facilities for kids.

I really don’t like giving critical reviews publicly – I usually prefer to share feedback in person. But the intention of this review is to help others avoid the same mistake. For nearly 8 years, I’ve been coming to Supetar with my family – it’s a fantastic place to visit in Croatia. We have our own place, but now and then we book a day of all-inclusive at this hotel. The price used to be very reasonable at €45 per adult, and the kids could tag along for free. So what’s the catch? Well, today we planned to do the same thing again, but the price had increased to a shocking level. The current price is €80 per adult and €40 per child. So something that used to cost €90 in total for a family of four now costs €240 – for exactly the same experience. No added value. Normally, I would’ve declined, but I had already promised my kids – and they’ve been looking forward to this for a year – so I didn’t want to disappoint them. A reasonable price for this would be at most €50 per adult and €25 per child, if children are to be charged at all. Here’s the deal: neither the food nor the drinks are worth that kind of money. Especially if you’re paying for small kids. When it comes to the all-inclusive concept at this hotel, there’s a lot left to be desired – and honestly, Supetar isn’t a place you go to for an all-inclusive experience. So, do you want a true Supetar experience? Book a private apartment and choose your restaurants freely. Personally, I prefer places like Punta, Vinotoka, Nona Roka, Apinelo, Vrilo, and so on. If you’re after a real all-inclusive experience instead, go to countries that have mastered the concept over the past 40 years. I’m talking about Turkey and Greece – they operate on a completely different level when it comes to this kind of offering. Croatia’s coastline is – if not the best – at least top 5 in the world, in my opinion. In other words, it’s not a place where you should just stay by the pool, which makes the all-inclusive option even less worthwhile.

Positives , great location near the beach , easy walk to lovely Supetar , rooms clean , food good but repetitive |Negatives , not ALL inclusive , decent coffee , beach towels , decent ice cream , paddle ,Lennox pool all extra , as AI you can only eat at one restaurant, . A lot of the staff rude , was checked in given my key but had to ask where the room was . I asked about facilities etc , she said scan this QR code and she didn’t know as she was a receptionist. Everyone seemed very blunt and felt a little like fawlty towers . Went to the adult entertainment first evening was advertised as ‘ dance show , with a picture of Latin dancers . Hardly anyone there and when it started nd was invited to do the conga I realised why and never went back . NO security. Anyone can walk into the resort and they do to get beach spots .

The most unfriendly reception staff I’ve ever come across. Was charge €20 each for stinking, dirty pool towels that we were told upon paying in cash for them we’d get €15 each back. Upon returning the grotty towels questioned why we only got €5 each back at which point lady on reception started shouting at me telling me i was a lier and I wasn’t told I’d get the higher amount back. (Take your own towels with you!) The room we stayed in was tiny only light from outside came from the small door to the balcony without basics in the room so had to live out of suitcases. The all inclusive drinks included were terrible with not much choice, had to pay for better selection of decent tasting drinks (not what you expected from all inclusive places) The food was repeated every couple of days and wasn’t always cooked properly got sick of the lack of choice after a couple of days. The main pool is too small for the hotel with sunbeds jammed in but still not enough. When an argument started about who’s sunbed was who’s a manager looking man scurried away very quickly (only time I saw any form of management in the 10 days we were there) Needs a designated smoking area away from the pool so non smokers don’t have to inhale the smoke, pool area needs to be non smoking with the number of people around it especially young children. You have to pay extra to access 2 of the other pools so didn’t even bother with them. Feel the photos online are very deceptive. The inflatable area in the sea isn’t part of the hotel, yet another added expense to use. I got eaten alive whilst there even when wearing repellent each night. The only positive for us was the location as within walking distance of the lovely harbour area which we went to every evening to get away from the hotel. Some great places to eat out there too (added experience when you planned on relying on the all inclusive so making the holiday even more expensive adding the cost of the food along with everything else the hotel charges you for) We definitely never return thanks to all the extra expense, terrible staff and food to name but a few bits.
