This is the perfect place to stay in Houston. The staff is amazing and the property is clean and beautiful. Very spacious fitness center. We really enjoyed our time.

This hotel is pretty cool. Karen checked me in and was very thorough. Though she did say that there were some complimentary drinks in the lounge at a certain hour which apparently no longer exists when I went up there and asked. Room was great and had a cool view of the pool The pool has a lazy river in the shape of Texas! I lived in Houston once for three years and never knew that. Also has a plastic/glass door in the lazy river that seems like an infinity pool cause it's right over the building. There is also an infinity pool. How crazy is that! Hot tub is great! Marriott Platinum Elite lounge is really nice and the ladies were so nice in there and really helped me and my friend in a lady emergency. Restaurants downstairs all looked nice but didn't get a chance to go to any of them. Parking is ridiculously expensive for Houston and a walk past the convention center. Valet is also expensive. Most hotels have parking on property which I found this really strange. Ballrooms are nice but they wouldn't let me cut through a certain floor to the fedex so I could ship something on the second floor. It was obvious that I was shipping something. So we went downstairs and across the way only to find that the escalator on the other side wasn't working. So we had to go all the way back to the other side to then the third floor and across and then go down on that side. Would have been easier if they had just let us go through the second floor. Wasted 30 minutes and gave us all that hassle for nothing. Would not let me have late check out even though I requested when I booked months before. I know other people were able to get one who were not even elite status. I needed it because of work. Annoying. Makes me not want to stay there again during a conference. Really nice hotel but should be better for the price you pay hands down. So expensive. Especially with the whole issue with the shipping and the parking and the check out. What a mess.

I stayed here three times and was never disappointed. The room was so clean. The staff was so helpful. I love their swimming pool. It's perfect to swim in the summertime. Their breakfast was a chef’s kiss!

I’ve been to the Marriott Marquis several times for various events, though I’ve never stayed in the rooms. My first visit was during the winter for an outdoor movie night by the pool, and it was such a memorable experience! The Texas-shaped pool, which is heated, was amazing. Even though it was cold outside, the warm water, hot chocolate, and fun atmosphere made it a blast for my kids. The views from the elevators overlooking the pool are stunning, and even if you’re not staying, it’s a great spot to snap a picture. My second visit was for a business conference, part of a million-dollar CEO mastermind group. I was impressed by the AV system—everything was easy to hear, and the setup was perfect for us to discuss business in a private space. The conference room was comfortable with ideal lighting and temperature (which isn’t always the case at these events), and I appreciated how the team considered our comfort with great chairs and a perfectly controlled room temperature for an all-day event. The location of the Marriott Marquis is another big plus—right next to Discovery Green and within walking distance to popular restaurants like Biggio’s and Pappadeaux. It’s convenient, whether you’re attending an event or meeting up with friends for happy hour at the wine bar or coffee shop downstairs. However, the parking situation is a bit frustrating. Valet parking is $60, which I found ridiculously high, especially since I wasn’t an overnight guest. In cities like New York and LA, I’ve paid less for downtown parking. My advice: if you’re not staying overnight, park a few blocks away or take an Uber—it’ll save you a lot. Just something to keep in mind if you’re budgeting for your visit. Overall, my experiences at the Marriott Marquis have been wonderful. From the beautiful pool area to the well-thought-out conference spaces and convenient amenities, it’s a great place to visit. Really awesome hotel like 2 blocks from Minute Maid Park and a couple blocks from the Toyota Center. There's a lot of things to do from here like museums and the aquarium that are about a 10 min drive and there a park right next door to the hotel. Staff were great and always greeting you and would definitely come back for my next visit to Houston!

I paid way too much to be treated the way I was treated by the manager Joann. I ordered pizza, it said it would be there in 3 minutes and I headed down, it was gone and it didn’t take me 3 min to get down here. It showed completed on my way down. All she told me was basically oh well. All I wanted to know is if it was delivered like it said it was and she would not even help me. They are two people standing at the desk and would see if a dominos pizza person showed up and put it down! There was a lot so it would be noticeable. 6 boxes and 2 sodas. Makes me wonder if she took my pizza, it was too quickly gone.

I decided to check out this hotel just for a day pass. The highlight was definitely the Texas pool, which had two bars and a great atmosphere to socialize with good company.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The front desk staff was so nice. Krystal from the front desk sent a thoughtful note and snack to my room. Her remembering the reason for my stay and including a hand written note was a nice touch. Food at the hotel restaurant was very good. Everything was clean and well maintained, including restrooms near the meeting rooms. The sound system, climate control, and lightling all worked well during our business event. The location of this property is excellent and within walking distance to local restaurants. I will definitely return.

Jayda was fantastic!! Not only was her customer service top notch, but we were so pleased when we came back to our room after a great day at the pool & were welcomed with special treats for making her day. She made us feel like VIPs when she is the true VIP! She is incredible & we want to come back to see/support her!
