There once was a lovely medieval castle sitting peacefully on a hill lording it over the peasants below. But then, after many years, a dragon came, who specialised in ghastly architecture and declared 'This castle shall be turned into an open sky shopping mall, and the peasants will be paying 10 euros each to get in!' And so it was done. The castle was suffocated with nasty renovation work, and badly designed exhibitions. The good aspects: the hill walk, seeing the castle from the town illuminated, and the funicular down. The stage platform in the centre of the courtyard. The view from the main tower. The puppet museum (just). The negatives: Renovated to death, committing every mistake one can make interpretation and curation wise. Commercialised with a capital C. Toilets should really be financed from ticket revenue and not charge on top of that.

성 전망대+전시관 3개 구경에 10유로지만 1개 전시관만 열려있었다. 전망대는 류블랴나에 왔으면 한번은 올라가서 봐야할 전망대이긴 하다.

The castle is beautifully restored with new accents, but done with care and everything is looking fine. Quite a few museums inside. A lot of history about Slovenia. You can visit the watchtower where you have a nice view on Ljubljana. Worth the visit

Hay dos caminos para subir al castillo, uno más corto pero muy empinado (y cansado) y otro más largo pero también más suave. Las vistas desde lo alto son preciosas. El castillo no tiene mucho que ver, está bastante remodelado, hay un bar dentro y unos aseos por los que hay que pagar para entrar.

The stroll to the castle was lovely and I would recommend it over the funicular if you're fit to walk. Took about 5-10minutes. Castle was free to enter but you have to get tickets if you want to enter some of the exhibits. Otherwise, go for the view. It's very scenic.

A very interesting place with lots of history. There was a nice display of paintings on show. The way up to the castle is great too.
