As far as European castles go, this is rather a let down. Possibly it was completed neglected or dilapidated in the past, but then they decided to spruce it up big time. Or did they tear down the old walls and roofs on purpose, to make this place look more contemporary? 80% of everything original, historical, or atmospheric is gone. So much so that they offer a "virtual castle tour" because the real thing has been done away with. It's all glass and steel structures - beautiful looking, but obliterating the past. And it's a massive rip off. They charged us 10 Euro admission each and an extra 5 each for the audio guide because we bought it after the ticket. If we had purchased both at once, it would have been "only" 13. And the toilet costs extra. It's a nice view from the castle hill, but you can get that from next to the castle, for free. I regret having wasted money on this underwhelming experience.
