Smo klub, pa smo mladi, smo odvisni od rock'n'rolla, svobodomiselnosti, smo tolerantni do drugačnih.... Vglavnem smo fajn, se radi zabavamo, prirejamo koncerte, druge kulturne prireditve, razstave in še kakšne zadeve. Temeljna vodila pri našem delu so inovativnost, odprtost in veselje do tega, kar naredimo. Mladinski center IndiJanez se imenujemo in furamo ta naš KLUB MC v Pekarni že od leta 1994. INDIJANEZ ??!?!?!? Kdo ali kaj je to, se sprašujete !? Upornik, revolucionar, nasprotnik globalizacije - skratka, karakterni Indijanec iz časov divjega zahoda ali preprost mlad človek, ki se je uprl vsiljevanju miselnosti. (Indi)JANEZ pa zaradi tega, da se ve odkod smo - iz Slovenije, dežele Janezov.

Pekarna je v Mariboru najbolj alternativen prostor za tiste, ki si zelijo več od mainstreama. zato pač 5 zvezdic!!!

In-line with Ljubljana's Metelkova and Copenhagen's Christiania, the MC Pekarna and the surrounding area is a youth-reclaimed free-spirited/rebellious ex-bakery concert and event place. The (much smaller) abandoned warehouses now covered with five-pointed red stars and anti capitalist sentiment graffiti remind of a different era, and radiate an aura of romantic decay. Coming alive in the summer months and mostly late in the night, the venue hosts a plethora of independent local and foreign bands, focusing more on metal and rock music. The sound is excellent, and the prices friendly even to unemployed broke dudes. Unlike Christiania however, you won't see many hippies here, but rather punks, metalheads and rockers. The place is run by a non-profit cultural club, who organises more than 90 events per year.

Still one of my favorite places to go for a drink on a weekend. This place has been part of my life for more than 17 years now. First thing you need to know is that MC Pekarna isn't just a bar or small concert hall, it's much more than that it’s a way of life! The people who run MC Pekarna do movie nights, book readings (there is a small library in the 2nd floor of the main building), regular tribute concerts, sessional concerts and much more. There are also concerts from tribute bands or even some well-known bands (but they happen in a different building which is still a part of MC Pekarna.). The second thing you need to know is that most of the music here is metal, rock, alternative and similar, so if you aren’t into this kind of music you might not have a good time. Other than that the people who are there regularly are always nice, there are rarely fights here, and when they happen it’s because people from outside start making trouble. Drink prices are really low, concert ticket prices are mostly just symbolic, the people working there are friendly, and the people who are regularly there are always open to conversations and always have something interesting to say. The only downside is the toilet. If you ever visit MC Pekarna, pray that you do not need to visit the toilet, because they are not good, not good at all. But I cannot give MC Pekarna less than 5 star, because I met my wife there so yeah, the best place in the world!
