I was passing through on my way from Venice, Italy to Timisoara, Romania. I stopped for gas and when I went to pay, I found out my bank card wasn't working at the POS anymore. The "gentleman" at the desk got anxious, seeing I was Romanian. He started raising the tone at me, saying he would call the police. He didn't speak English, so we couldn't understand eachother. And then he said something very very insulting to me, thinking I wouldn't understand : picku materinu rumeno (google it and you'll see). Luckily his younger colleague did speak English and later on explained to me how to get to the nearest ATM - where my bank card worked btw. So....what do you think about people who swear a paying customer to his face?
