"Very unfriendly staff at Zadar Airport (inside the terminal – especially a lady) who shouted at my wife during the car return process, because we questioned the amount of fuel charged. Be careful when returning a car – I didn’t use the full tank, but they charged me for the entire thing. Staff said that there is no problem....

Absolutely disgraceful and dishonest experience – AVOID THIS BRANCH AT ALL COSTS Sixt Zadar Airport tried to scam me at every possible step. First, they lied and told me I had no insurance at all (even basic was included in my booking). Then they tried to force me to pay €160 extra. When I agreed and handed over my Maestro card, they suddenly claimed I had to buy the full insurance (€260) because they “can’t use Maestro for basic.” Only when I said I’d call customer service did they magically change their minds. Then they told me the deposit was €3,000 and would be held for 3 weeks, even though Booking.com confirmed it should be €1,200. Their answer: “We don’t care what Booking.com says.” Finally, I returned the car with a full tank as agreed, and they still stole €49 from my deposit for “fuel.” This branch is a total scam. Rude, unprofessional, and predatory. Shame on Sixt for allowing this to continue. I’ll never rent from them again.

Uwaga przy rezerwacji online! Ja z dostępnych opcji ubezpieczenia wybrałem najwyższe, ale w kolejnym kroku formularza była jeszcze jeszcze opcja "pełne ubezpieczenie" - w formularzu nie było opisu co to oznacza, więc jej nie zaznaczałem (myślałem, że wybierając najdroższe ubezpieczenie, faktycznie będzie pełne). Na miejscu okazało się, że nie obejmuje ono opon, szyb i assistance, więc jeżeli nie chcę dopłacić (ok. 30% więcej) to depozyt wynosi 1000 euro - wpłaciłem depozyt. Po oddaniu samochodu po 1 czy 2 dniach dostałem maila, że wszystko ok, brak nowych szkód, ale uwaga depozyt nadal był zablokowany - kontaktowałem się z bankiem i był zablokowany ponad miesiąc od rezerwacji, odczekałem do tego czasu i faktycznie dopiero wtedy pieniądze wróciły na konto (samochód oddałem 25 czerwca, pieniądze wróciły 20 lipca). Dodam, że wypożyczając w sixt w innym kraju depozyt na paliwo (100euro) został zwrócony już po 3-4 dniach (płatność tą samą kartą). Na plus to, że mieliśmy zupełnie nowy samochód Dacie Duster oraz to, że finalnie cały depozyt został zwrócony.

I had an great experience with Sixt at Zadar Airport! The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional honestly the best service I’ve ever had with Sixt. They even upgraded me to a better car than I had booked, and kindly offered me an even higher category, but I felt more comfortable driving a simpler car, which they completely understood. The car was spotless, very comfortable, and the whole rental process was smooth and stress free. Prices were very affordable, and even the insurance options were excellent and reasonable. The team was so nice that I even gave the girls at the counter some Swiss chocolates I had with me as a thank you they truly deserved it! From now on, I’ll never drive to Croatia with my own car again renting from Sixt here is absolutely the way to go.

The car was a new model and very comfortable. Navigation was problem-free. Everything was good and I really enjoyed it. The staff at the airport were very friendly and respectful, and we had no problems. I recommend renting from this company.

Told me I'll get a discount because I booked online and showed me a hand-written note with -39€. Turned out to be an upgrade instead. Very bad business practice, can't recommend.

Very pleased with the experience. The team were great and I found that there was no pushy upselling at the desk which I really appreciated. The car was of great quality and felt that it was great value for money, ideal for navigating Croatia. The instructions prior to renting clearly set out the costs that I would have to pay at the desk and the hold charge on a credit card, so again no surprises when it came to the rental desk. The team were extremely friendly and helpful, and the handover process was smooth and efficient. Thanks to the team for a great experience will definitely use Sixt again in future.

Don't take them!!! They concioussly gave FALSE information that I don't need to bring full tank back, it's 'inclided' even if I asked twice because it sounded weird! And on the end the end they CHARGE 70€ for not bringing full tank back. This is so unprofessional and they are most expensive rent a car and should have good reputation but it's NOT so. Had an argument why they gave me false information two times!! False infos just to be able to charge me on the end. Better take goldcar or europacar instead!! PURE LIES in your face, so unprofessional!!

They told me at the collection point that I didn’t need to refill the car before returning it, but then charged me €70 afterward — even though I asked two different staff members to confirm, and both assured me it was true.

Kompetenter und kundenorientierter Service. Wenn die Schalter dann auch noch in einen üblichen Empfangsbereich inkl. Klimatisierung umgezogen werden, wäre dies klasse. Aber unter den vor Ort herrschenden Bedingungen war das ok.

Excellent vehicle and the guys handing over the vehicle and collecting it back couldn't have been more helpful and friendly but the whole process was soured by high pressure sales techniques at the registration desk where we were pressurised into taking additional excess cover despite already having paid for Booking.com excess cover. Might just have been unlucky but after a long day travelling this was a spoiler that we didn't need and was disappointing. First time using Sixt but will check for local reviews next time bofore booking.
