AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I made a booking with Green Motion Dubrovnik Airport a year in advance through a comparison site for my 2025 summer holidays. When I arrived at 9 a.m., I noticed another couple waiting to return their car. I pointed out the drop box next to me, in case they were in a hurry, but the woman smiled and said she preferred to wait. Apparently, the car was in terrible condition to begin with, and the agent was supposed to meet them at 7 a.m. but never showed up. Not very professional…
After a reasonable wait, we were greeted by the agent, who seemed polite and cheerful. Everything appeared to be going smoothly—until the deposit request.
I was asked for a €1,200 deposit.
I had a credit card with a €1,000 credit facility, but the transaction was declined.
I calmly offered a solution: transferring the rental to my travel companion, who had a high-limit credit card. But the agent flatly refused, without even checking the system.
His only answer? “Call your bank and ask them to increase your credit limit.”
From that moment on, his attitude drastically changed. He avoided eye contact, barely spoke to us, and treated us with total disdain. Finally, he asked us to leave his office.
So here we were, standing under the scorching sun, left to figure things out on our own—not for a weekend getaway, but for an 11-day road trip.
I contacted the comparison site, who were incredibly helpful and offered to email the agency to authorize the name change. I thought we had a chance.
But no.
After finishing with other customers, the agent walked past me without a word. Didn’t even ask if we’d found a solution. Just vanished.
End result? We went to SIXT.
Yes, we had to rebook last minute, but for €570 over 11 days, it was still reasonable—and they treated us like royalty.
Looking back, I believe the agent had no intention of honoring my original booking. I reserved in July 2024 for July 2025, and the total cost was… €129. You do the math. Refusing the car over a technicality allowed them to re-rent it for a higher price.
Bottom line: shady tactics are one thing. But the utter lack of empathy and basic human decency? Unforgivable.
If they had simply agreed to switch the name on the contract, I would have gladly left a 5-star review. But after seeing other reviews, maybe I was lucky he refused.

UNBEDINGT VERMEIDEN!!
Ich habe noch nie so schlechte Erfahrungen mit einem Mietwagenanbieter gemacht. Seit über drei Monaten warte ich auf die Rückzahlung meiner Kaution. Das Fahrzeug wurde in genau dem Zustand zurückgegeben, in dem ich es erhalten habe.
Vor Ort wurde mir versichert, die Kaution werde nur auf der Kreditkarte geblockt. Diese Aussage war schlicht falsch. Das Geld wurde abgebucht und bis heute nicht zurückerstattet. Ich versuche seither alles mögliche zu tun, um mein Geld zurückzubekommen. Es ist eine pure Qual.
Trotz mehrfacher Kontaktversuche reagiert der Kundenservice seit Wochen nicht. Anfangs kamen schnelle Antworten und die Aufforderung, Belege von meiner Bank zu schicken, dass das Geld abgebucht wurde. Das habe ich getan. Seitdem: keine Antwort, kein Update, nichts.
Es geht hier um mein Geld, das mir ohne jeden Grund vorenthalten wird.
Ich kann nur warnen: Finger weg von diesem Unternehmen. Ich bin wütend, frustriert und enttäuscht.

Avoid at all costs. Our experience with Green Motion (Dubrovnik Airport location) was nothing short of outrageous from start to finish. We booked a hybrid, but were handed a battered diesel with 210,000 km on the clock. The A/C barely worked and made a horrible grinding noise — perfect, after waiting over 30 minutes in the blazing sun to pick up this junker.
Three days in, a low coolant warning appeared. We checked the reservoir and found oil mixed in — a classic sign of a blown head gasket. Had we kept driving, the engine likely would’ve failed completely. We contacted Green Motion by email — no response. We then called them; someone finally answered and promised to call us back within 15 minutes. Naturally, that never happened. So we called again, and were finally told we could swap the car… but only in Dubrovnik, while we were in Kotor, Montenegro. There goes half a day of our vacation.
Once there — again, waiting in the sun despite the fact they knew we were coming. No apology, no thanks for catching a serious engine issue. Zero acknowledgment or professionalism.
The replacement? Yet another beat-up diesel. This time an Opel Insignia. Still not the hybrid we booked. Still awful. The A/C barely worked and smelled like urine. The steering wheel was chewed up, alignment was off, and the tires were cheap, worn-out garbage from a no-name brand. The entire car felt like it could fall apart at any moment.
After asking, since this was not the car we booked. We were even offered an alternative: a rusty old Dacia Logan that looked like it had been pulled straight from a scrapyard. It felt like we were taking part in some twisted rental car lottery.
Yes, Green Motion is cheap — but it shows in every possible way:
• Worthless customer service
• Dangerous, neglected vehicles
• No respect for your reservation
• No accountability
• And absolutely no apologies or compensation when things go seriously wrong
Bottom line: save yourself the stress, wasted time, and potential danger. Never rent from Green Motion.

We rented a car in Croatia and had a frustrating experience. Upon collecting the vehicle, we were told we couldn’t pay with a debit card—only a credit card. To pay with a debit card, we were forced to upgrade to a higher package, which cost an extra €220. The way they present the insurance packages is misleading. The so-called “Plus” package is actually very basic, and you need the “Advanced Plus” for what you’d expect from a standard Plus option. Be sure to read everything carefully.
The car we received was in poor condition—a Chevrolet with broken wing mirror covers, a damaged gear stick, and rusty, chipped paint. It didn’t feel roadworthy and struggled on hills. No alternative vehicle was offered, and we were charged extra for a very weak car which should have been a Fiat 500.
I would avoid this company in Croatia. The overall experience was disappointing and did not feel safe or transparent.

Our rental was smooth and efficient. The rental desks are easy to find. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. We got a Fiat 500 that was clean and in good condition. Returning the vehicle was also hassle-free and easy. Also the prices were cheaper than everywhere.

Pongo una estrella porque no es posible poner ninguna.
Son unos estafadores. No nos dejaron recoger nuestro vehículo después de haberlo reservado y pagado con nuestra visa, la cual hemos usado en múltiples alquileres de coches en diferentes países.
Su justificación era que se trataba de una tarjeta de débito en lugar de crédito, y que no podían cobrar un depósito por ese motivo, aunque eso es totalmente falso, ya que en todos los alquileres previos nos han podido cobrar un depósito sin ningún problema.
Lógicamente tampoco han querido devolver el importe del alquiler, ni del seguro contratado.
Comentar también la escasa simpatía y empatía del agente que estaba al cargo.
Sabemos que no hemos sido los únicos en esa situación, justo las clientas que estaban detrás nuestra en la fila sufrieron la misma estafa. Y tanto nosotros, como ellas, tuvimos que alquilar en otra agencia "casualmente" justo pegada a su oficina y en la que no pusieron pegas a nuestra visa.

Je n'ai certes pas eu un véhicule neuf (142000 km au compteur et pas mal cabossé) mais en bon état de marche, y compris la climatisation. Le prix de location était imbattable, et j'ai parcouru sans problème les routes du Monténégro. Le check-in a été minutieux et la personne chargée de faire le tour avec moi a relevé tous les dommages existants de lui-même, sans que j'aie besoin de les lui faire remarquer, ce que j'ai apprécié. Le retour s'est également très bien passé, l'agent sur place était agréable et m'a remis très vite un document attestant que l'état du véhicule était similaire à celui de départ. Expérience positive pour ma part et pour un prix assez modique, qui compense le mauvais état de la carrosserie.

Agence qui fonctionne sur l’arnaque.
Ils attendent des cartes de crédits pour payer la caution. Hors ils disent que les cartes de crédits ne fonctionnent pas et qu’ils ne veulent pas vous laisser la voiture (réservée 6 mois auparavant).
Au lieu de cela, ils vous réorientent vers l’agence voisine, qui appartient sans aucun doute à la même personne même si elle n’a pas le même nom. Pour cette dernière la carte de crédit fonctionne comme par magie.
Ainsi ils récupèrent l’argent prépayé pour la réservation.
Nous étions 3 personnes à la suite à se faire avoir.
A fuir si vous ne voulez pas ruiner votre début de séjour.

Simply scammers. You reserve the car, you come there and they are saying that your reservation has been moved to another agency. You come there and you get (surprise!) different prices for insurance, border crossing permit and etc...
I literally showed to Green Motion stuff confirmation mail from them he replied: "you are not our clients"
Avoid this poor service, shameful and dishonest company!

HORRIBLE service! We booked for 10:30 am made us wait until noon. The AC was not functional, when we asked to get another car with an functional AC ( as stipulated in the contract) the person there said they do not have any more cars to ask for a refund. We rented a car with the company right beside and when asked for the refund Green Motion is refusing to refund us. I have NEVER seen such poor service and quality stay away at all costs!!

N’accepte pas une caution par carte crédit sous prétexte que leur système indique une carte débit alors qu’il s’agit d’une carte utilisée à plusieurs reprises avec d’autres agences.
Veille voiture âgée de plus que 8ans et a roulé plus que 200000km ainsi la surprise un clim presque non fonctionnel et un moteur mpi 1.0 extrêmement faible sur les cotes.
Bref sauvez vos argents et fuyez vous.

J’ai loué une voiture, mais à ma grande surprise, la clé ne fonctionne pas, et la climatisation non plus, alors que nous sommes en plein été. En plus, on m’a demandé 300 € supplémentaires pour l’assurance ….

J’ai loué une voiture pour 7 jours, et on m’a attribué une Polo de 2017 avec 170 000 km au compteur. La climatisation ne fonctionnait pas correctement (probablement non rechargée), ce qui est très gênant en plein été. La clé ne permettait pas de verrouiller à distance (pile sûrement vide), et le réservoir de liquide pour les essuie-glaces était vide. Voiture mal entretenue. Je ne recommande pas.

Très mauvaise expérience avec cette entreprise de location de voiture, réservée via Booking.
Dès notre arrivée, on nous annonce une empreinte bancaire de 800 €, dont nous n’avions absolument pas été informés à l’avance. Ensuite, on nous force à payer une assurance de presque 70 €, alors que nous avions déjà souscrit une assurance complète au moment de la réservation. C’est tout simplement abusif.
Mais le pire reste la voiture : nous avions réservé une Fiat 500, pratique et compacte, et on nous remet une Seat longue, encombrante, dans un état déplorable :
Points de rouille un peu partout
Vitre conducteur qui ne fonctionne pas
Climatisation défaillante
Freins très inquiétants
Pneus extrêmement usés
Problème d'airbag
Franchement, c’est dangereux. Ce n’est pas du service, c’est de l’irrespect total envers les clients.
Je déconseille fortement cette entreprise. Fuyez, même si le prix semble attractif au départ — vous risquez de le payer cher ensuite.

We booked a car through EnjoyTravel, but when we arrived, Green Motion refused to give it to us unless we paid a large deposit with a credit card – something we were never told about.
Customer service was rude and unhelpful. We were left without a car and no solution.
Would not recommend.
Avoid at all costs. Total lack of transparency and professionalism.

Service und Übergabe waren problemlos.
ABER:
Wir hatten absichtlich die kleinste Klasse gebucht, und auf eine niedrige Kaution (200 €) geachtet..
Bei dem Preis haben wir auch keinerlei Neuwagen oder Luxusausstattung erwartet..
Wir bekamen einen Chevrolet Spark mit !!! 193.000 km !!!.
Alle Beschädigungen zu dokumentieren hat den Mitarbeiter und uns mehr als 10 min in der prallen Sonne gekostet.
Auch war das Auto technisch grenzwertig... in Deutschland hätte es keinen TÜV bekommen.
Meiner Meinung nach ist das nicht sehr kundenfreundlich ein Auto mit derart hoher Laufleistung und in diesem Zustand zu vermieten.
Nur aufgrund des sehr günstigen Preises und weil keine zusätzlichen Gebühren berechnet oder die Kaution einbehalten wurde...
gebe ich 3 Sterne.

Ho stipulato contratto di noleggio tramite Edreams con assicurazione aggiuntiva a copertura della franchigia, proprio per non avere problemi. Alla riconsegna dell'auto tutto ok ma al rientro la sorpresa, hanno comunque addebitato i 1200 € sulla carta. Non rispondono al telefono, dopo infinite mail nelle quali chiedevano alla mia banca di dimostrare che non me li avevano rimborsati (Assurdo, sei tu che devi dimostrare di avermeli rimborsati e non io che non li ho incassati), arriva una mail di scuse nella quale chiedono l'iban per il rimborso, ma sono passati altri 15 giorni e ad oggi dei miei 1200 € nessun traccia! Vergognosi.
Sono due mesi che vi contatto e avete il coraggio di dirmi che comprendete quanto possa essere frustrante... dovete fare solo una cosa... farmi il bonifico... e continuare a vergognarvi!

Pessima esperienza zero stelle, STATE ALLA LARGA NON RESTITUISCONO IL DEPOSITO CAUZIONALE, ad oggi dopo due mesi a mezzo non hanno ancora rimborsato il deposito cauzionale dopo centinaia di solleciti. Scammers. La nostra esperienza è stata terribile. Appena arrivati ci hanno dato una macchina completamente rovinata, appena partiti ci siamo accorti che la frizione era completamente rotta e la macchina non riusciva a fare nemmeno una leggera salita. Quando siamo tornati ci hanno dato una nuova macchina, anche questa con la carrozzeria completamente danneggiata e i fari abbaglianti che non funzionavano. Quando siamo tornati per restituire la macchina il ragazzo ha iniziato ad indicare dei danni al parafango sotto la targa, danni che il suo collega non aveva segnato perché “we don’t charge for this type of small damage”. Dopo una lunga discussione gli abbiamo fatto vedere le foto fatte prima di partire, dove si vedeva chiaramente che il danno già presente. La discussione si è conclusa con il ragazzo dell’auto noleggio ha detto “must have been an error of the new colleague”. Non fidatevi di loro.
