Having set foot into a Hofer store, you know what to expect. As one of my friends used to say, "Coffee on the left, cookies on the right, that's a typical setup that welcomes you immediately after you step into any of their shops." And it's true. Just as it is also true that they rarely disappoint. Setting your expectations right means almost always getting what you came here for. I came for a specific meat product that I usually buy there and a few knickknacks to add as I went through the store. I ended up buying everything I needed, with added fresh produce and a pack of toilet paper on top. I even sneaked in a bag of crisps, my sometimes guilty pleasure for the times when I crave salty foods but cannot be bothered to make any. And all of that at the Hofer Price! [UPDATE] The setup has actually changed, it's fruit and veg first when you set foot in this store. Not quite sure where the cookies are placed now, or coffee. It probably makes more sense to some but in my head, it's still a bit confusing and it hinders my ability to quickly pop in and get everything I need in my shopping cart.
