Er is een groot stadion in Split, het Poljud Stadion. Het stadion werd gebouwd voor de Mediterraanse Spelen in 1979. Het heeft een capaciteit van 35.000 toeschouwers.en het is de thuisbasis van de voetbalclub HNK Hajduk Split. Hadjuk Split behoort tot de succesvolste teams in Kroatië en voormalig Joegoslavië. Ze hebben negen keer het Joegoslavische kampioenschap en zes keer het Kroatische kampioenschap gewonnen, naast negen keer de Joegoslavische beker, acht keer de Kroatische beker en vijf keer de Kroatische supercup. Ze zijn nooit gedegradeerd.

I had a disturbing experience at the football match where I got leg kicked and kicked out by a group of Croatian shirtless individuals for no reason. Literally was there to enjoy a football match and couldn’t even last 30 mins.. left a very sour taste as I’ve enjoyed Croatia so far however the crowd at football matches is very much not globalized and would not recommend to foreigners who don’t have tough skin.

Was very excited to watch a Croatian football game until I was kicked out of the section I paid tickets for because I was not “Croatian”. Have never experienced this type of racism in my life until someone told me to leave and go somewhere else because of my ethnicity. Will never come back here for my personal safety.
