My friend and I managed to get a reservation today and I am very glad we did. For the starters we had the aged cheeses assortment, seasoned raw filets and courgette flowers. I would not recommend the cheeses (not aged enough in my opinion), but the seasoned raw filets and courgette flowers were marvellous. For the mains we both had the beef filet since they ran out of foal. It was done to perfection. The čompa (potato) as a side dish is a must-have. The wine is very reasonably priced. I truly loved our server as she was professional and helpful with her advice. Next time someone asks me where to have a great steak in Ljubljana I’ll recommend Čompa.

Appena arrivato a Lubiana, devo dire che questo è uno dei ristoranti dove ho mangiato meglio nella mia vita. Affettati e formaggi al top, tagliata di puledro? Una delle meglio cose che potrete mangiare qui e nel mondo! Ah, il tutto accompagnato da focaccine calde e birre buonissime! Complimenti, mille stelle! Spero che per i prossimi giorni di viaggio per la Slovenia lo standard sia lo stesso, ma la vedo difficile. Complimenti ancora!

We tried entering at 8:00 without a reservation, knowing quite well that we could’ve been told to wait some time… we were greeted with a “you should’ve booked ONE week in advance” and “if you’re still hungry by 11:00, maybe you can come” Mate, if I’m still hungry by 11:00 it won’t be your business, because I’ll be somewhere else! Lost a possible customer with this arrogance. P.s.: I peeked inside after noticing that some tables outside were reserved, there was some space. Maybe some tables inside were also reserved, but I’m 99% sure that the Diner-style countertop next to the entrance was definitely free. I honestly think you have an unspoken limit of customers due to shortage of staff (or simply saving on waiters/waitresses). In short, beware of their arrogance and BOOK ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE for supper.

La miglior carne di Lubiana. Fatevi consigliare, ragazzi giovani ma che sanno fare il loro lavoro. Ottimi i fiori di zucca ripieni al formaggio e gli affettati. Buonissima la birra di loro produzione. Prezzi in linea con l'alta qualità offerta. Consigliatissimo a chi vuole concedersi un pasto da ricordare.

Visitámos este restaurante para jantar. O ambiente foi muito agradável. Tínhamos feito reserva, mas a mesa que nos ofereceram não era indiciada para 3 pessoas, mas sim para 2, por estar à beira da estrada. Contudo, esperamos um pouco e sentaram-nos numa mesa melhor e bastante mais simpática. O atendimento foi bastante bom, principalmente pelo rapaz que ficou responsável pela nossa mesa. Muito simpático, atencioso e disponível para explicar os pratos todos. Em relação à comida, estavam com muitas limitações no menu, o que desiludiu um pouco, infelizmente. Acabámos por pedir os cogumelos recheados com gorgonzola, que estavam bastante bons, e um carpaccio de beterraba. Depois pedimos um filete de vaca, a acompanhar com courgette grelhada com parmesão e batatas assadas. Estava muito bom. Para a sobremesa pedimos um bolo de manga e um bolo de chocolate. Apesar de agradáveis, não achamos nada de especial. Gostei do restaurante e aconselho, mas acho que o facto de terem em falta muitas das entradas do menu, é algo limitativo.

Came here in 2012. Stumbled here by accident since I got into town very late and it was the only thing open at 10 pm… This had to be one of the best meals of my life, the steak was amazing, the vegetables perfect, and beer delicious. I don’t want to say more because you need to try for yourself. If you come to Ljubljana just for this restaurant, it would be well worth it!

I had one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time at Compa this past Thursday night (June 23, 2022). Not only was the meat (especially the foal steak and pork chops) mouthwateringly delicious, the service was amazing. Mila the manager is a super host. We even ended up having an absolute blast and ended the evening with copious amounts of wine and singing songs with the guitar that the restaurant had in-house :)
