Such a HUGEEEE disappointment !! Went there for a friends birthday dinner on a Friday evening to only experience one of the worst service experiences ever. We had a large party of about 12-15 which by the way they DO NOT split checks and do not notify you prior to ordering btw . Several ppl in our party did not receive several items they ordered and still got charged for them at the end to only tell the server please take that off my tab , when the server reply’s “oh it’s fine I’ll go get it now “ . Getting dessert 30 minutes AFTER everyone was done was not ok , so they had to cancel that . That was just 1 of the items that was forgotten , we decided to write out how much per person/couple was going to pay and write it out on the back of the dessert menu for him , even though the request for a paper and pen was ignored/forgotten . A HOUR later he returns with the 6 cards … some of our party had to go get their cars cause the valet was closing otherwise they would be locked overnight . So they had to move their cars come back inside to continue to wait for their cards and sign , it took a hour to charge 6 cards for the written out amounts of the amount of the tab . Any plans we had afterwards were gone !! No communication was given from anyone in the restaurant over what the hold up was over anything . A “manager “ looking gentleman would often walk by scanning the tables but without actually asking how our evening /experience was . nothing special about this place by any means . My favorite part of this experience was the end when I got my card back and got to leave the establishment. Only reason I left 2 stars is cause the duck was just “ok”, dry and bland so wasn’t horrible at least .

My aunt lives in Houston and I happened to be visiting her during restaurant week so our first stop after landed was to go to Xochi for lunch. It was my first time and it was an awesome experiance! I have gluten and dairy restrictions and the waiter was so accommodating. I ordered the Ensalada De Sandia and the Tacos de Pato and they were both incredible! My aunt sister and I split the tiramisu and it was fantastic. For my drink I went with the Roasted Fruit Mojito which was a 10/10.

Cool atmosphere. I expected better considering whose restaurant it is. The beef cheeks dish was probably the best thing out of the several things we ordered. Service was ok. I felt like we were being rushed or as if our waiter was busy and didn't want to deal with us.

Food & service was great! Was able to try most of the menu since I was staying there for a week and it was restaurant week. Host and servers were great the whole entire time. I asked all of the questions and they did their best to answer them to make sure I picked the right selections. I did have one gripe, it was that this place did not have Horchata! Why is that?! I realized that I was not even focused on taking pictures because I cleaned my plate, EVERY. TIME. I do recommend that even if you’re out there by yourself, that affogato & hot chocolate with the churros are well worth it. Overall, I loved everything😁

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an unforgettable dining experience at XOCHI, thanks to our exceptional waiter, Mr. Francisco. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel welcome and attended to every detail with genuine warmth and professionalism. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and his recommendations were spot-on. The highlight of our evening was the Jamaica Foam Margarita and the XOLO Mexican Wine, both of which Francisco expertly suggested. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor truly enhanced our dining experience. We can’t thank him enough for making our visit to XOCHI so memorable. We’ll definitely be back and hope to see Francisco again!

Went to Xochi for the second time yesterday after not being too impressed the first time but my niece wanted to try it and I wanted to give it another try. I was not impressed with the food the first time and the second time was no different. The scallop ceviche was not marinated and the scallops were very fishy tasting. My tlayuda was dry, lacked seasoning and overall flavor. It tasted like the components were just placed on the tortilla without any seasoning at all. My wife got a seafood dish that was similar to paella but she said it wasn’t too good and she would never order it again. My niece got chicken mole and she said it was good but it was much better in Mexico. The dishes seem to lack “soul” and seasoning and seem to be more concerned about presentation than flavor. They look nice but completely fall short on flavor. My 2 visits were two years apart and the problem with the food still exists. Doesn’t the chef taste the food? I used to have a food blog and I have been to hundreds of restaurants and other than the presentation, this may be one of the most overrated restaurants that I have seen. I must say that the churros and chocolate were very good!

The hype is real. Just like other reviewers , I was extremely pleased with the food, service and overall experience. But what I think sets this restaurant apart from other really good restaurants in Houston area is their commitment to keeping high standards. Next day after our visit, I got an email from the manager asking for a feedback on how they could improve things. Mind you this is a very popular eatery with over 3500 positive reviews. They are doing fine. It's great to see that they don't rest on their laurels. Keep up the great work.
