When I found this place I was excited and looking forward to have an exciting food experience. Unfortunately, I ended up disappointed. The service was poor. We needed to ask for food menu and for order itself. It was obvious that staff was not organised. The food looked really good, but the taste was not that great. I had Gipsy’a goulash and the taste was flavourless.

In the city center, perfect place to have the 9 Euro menu and try typical soups and the traditional dumpling or struklji, sweet or savoury.

Nice place for a restaurant. The waitress was kind of friendly but had a really hard time to explain what soups are on the menu today. Finally I just ordered "something vegetarian" as she was not able to tell what they served on that day. Fair enough, what I got is best described by "rinsing water". The soup was absolutely free from any taste. Trying to get it straight with seasonings at hand was not possible. So I skipped the soup, took the bread and poured down my beer. Beer and bread are okay...

A local tourist guide had mentioned „Struckli“ as one of the must-try-specialties of Slovenia. We found these at Moi Struckli and tried 3 types (2 sweet and 1 spicy) all of which were absolutely delicious.

Across from the side of the river that caters to tourists with inflated prices are several places where locals seem to hang out. The cabbage stew/soup was delicious and incredibly filling. If I had realized that, I likely wouldn’t have bothered with also getting a dumpling, but since that’s a local specialty, it was probably just as well. Everything was delicious and the staff super friendly and on the ball. The one downside was all the birds vying for your food, I could have done without that, but not sure what can be done about that.
