Druga Violina is an unique restaurant considering that they employ people with special needs to help out their operations. If you are not aware of this you may be a bit surprised as some of them may silently reach out from behind you to hand you your utensils or basket of bread. It is touching to see how they are eager to please and do their jobs well. The food is quite good and the portions very generous. We had the grilled polenta and a pork dish I cannot recall. Everything was fresh and nicely presented. The ambiance outside was the perfect ambiance and great for people watching while you wait (decent speed) for your order. This is one of the places I will go to again tomorrow.

Ljubljana is very safe and cool city. Very easy to explore and cheaper than many other European cities. The view is wonderful. Riverside restaurants and cafes are much pretty to try. I strongly recommend to visit.

This place came recommended from our local host in Ljubljana as a restaurant where one can eat traditional Slovenian food inexpensively. The food was traditional and inexpensive is an understatement! Very cheap. We ate buckwheat with porcini, which was something I've never had before and quite tasty. The grain was a bit overcooked and so was the pasta (a local style stuffed dough), but everything was enjoyable. The location is excellent, right in the middle of Old Town and the best part is that the establishment employs people with disabilities, which brought tears to my wife's eyes. Staff was super friendly and helpful and the whole experience was memorable! Would go back and recommend.
