Prvi put smo probali Roman pizzu i oduševljeni smo! Tijesto tanko, hrskavo, a sastojci odlični i bogati. Sve je bilo svježe i jako ukusno, pizza koju definitivno poželiš pojesti do zadnjeg zalogaja. Uz to, jako ugodna atmosfera i opušten ambijent.
Osoblje je odlično, veselo i pristupačno.
Dozvoljeno je ljubimcima.
Vraćamo se sigurno opet!

This was the last pizza I had in Croatia—and probably the one that stood out the most. I’ve had quite a few during my trip, but this one was different. Not necessarily the best, but definitely the most distinct in texture.
Let me explain:
I was torn between going all-in on a big, expensive Italian dinner… or keeping it simple with pizza. If you’re reading this, you already know which one won. I went with the seasonal pizza, which came topped with asparagus, bacon, and all the usual fixings. The photos can speak for themselves—so I’ll skip the fluff. It’s pizza. But here’s what made it special: the crust.
Unlike most of the pizza I’ve had in Croatia, this crust had crunch—in the best way. Thin enough to let the flavors of the bacon and asparagus shine, but sturdy and crisp beyond the toppings. The texture contrast elevated the whole thing.
I also appreciated that this was a seasonal special—not the usual suspects like prosciutto or mushrooms. I’ve had plenty of traditional Croatian pizza by now, so it was refreshing to try something different. Honestly, my favorite part? The chili olive oil. Not spicy, but it added a subtle, flavorful heat that tied everything together beautifully.
I got here around 5:00 PM. It was mellow at first, but started to fill up as I finished—still chill, not chaotic. Just a heads up: this place is tucked away. I accidentally walked into the bar of a different restaurant first. To find it, go up the stairs and look for the sign that says Karijola.
Final shoutout to the server—he clocked me as a tourist immediately, but was super kind and gave me great recommendations for my last day in Croatia. They were out of their house wine, but he suggested a local bottle instead. It paired perfectly with the pizza.
Cool people, good vibes, and damn good food. Would 100% come back.

Warm place with friendly and pleasant staff giving all a good welcome. Duri g the time I was at the restaurant, the place was busy and the waiters were catering to all, joking around and making a good atmosphere. A pizza is a pizza but at Karijola it is a good pizza with excellent service. :)
