With its altitude of 1259 meters, Mali Planik is the second highest summit of Ćićarija mountain range, only 13 meters lower than the nearby Veliki Planik. It is far more attractive than its higher neighbor, due to unobstructed view to all directions. The summit is a rocky plateau with a metal box and a hiking stamp. The panorama is one of the best in Croatia, in my opinion. Entire Istria with its far coast can be seen to the west, Italian Alps and gulf of Venice NW, all important Slovenian mountains to the north and NE, and Risnjak-Snežnik massif to the east. Kvarner gulf with Rijeka, the islands and Northern Velebit Park are easily recognized SE. Absolutely a summit that needs to be visited in one's mountaineering career.
