Ivan is great blacksmith but most of all fun and welcoming host. He showed us the ropes of smithing, with Ivans guidance my friends made knives and icepicks. I only made a pigtail paper weight, nevertheless it was a unique and fun experience that I would like to do again. Recommend to everyone that wants to try or learn smithing.

It was a wonderful experience and a great pleasure to meet Ivan and learn a lot from him. Pored svega Ivan je jedna prekrasna osoba, mi ćemo se još itekako družiti na kovačkim radionicama.

Echt een heel goede smit! Natuurlijk hebben we een mooi mes als eind product en hebben we heel veel geleerd, maar de meester is vooral heel sociaal en vriendelijk. Ook voor ons als buitenlandse toeristen. De communicatie (in Engels) was top!

Jako dobro iskustvo, odlično za nekoga tko se želi okušati u kovanju. Osobno meni je bio san da probam kovati tako da sam jako zadovoljan :). Definitivno preporučam da probate.

We had an excellent knifemaking workshop! It was a pleasure working with Ivan, the weather was cold but we were warm pumping iron and making knives! 😁 Our knives turned out splendidly even though we had made a few begginer errors which Ivan ironed out for us and saved the day! 😎 Ivan was very professional and had nerves of steel with us merry and overly-eager company. We had our hands full making new arms and new memories! We also had a lot of fun joking around as we were learning this new skill. It was so old school that I felt like I was in my grandfathers workshop again. Would recommend again 100 times! I just had to get all the puns out of the way, cheers all! 🍻😉

5/5 – An Unforgettable Experience! I went for a Damascus forging session and walked away with not just a stunning piece of steel, but some of the best memories of my life. From layering and folding Damascus to forge-welding an axe head, every moment was hands-on, intense, and insanely rewarding. The setting? Absolutely breathtaking—like something out of a fantasy novel. And then there’s Ivan. What a guy! His passion, skill, and easygoing nature make forging with him an absolute blast. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned smith, this is an experience you need to have.

Attending Ivan’s knife-making class was an incredible experience! Ivan is a true master blacksmith, passionate about his craft and eager to share his knowledge. The place is located about 30 minutes drive from Split, to a small muncipality of Muć - wonderful place with beautiful nature From shaping the blade to heat-treating and sharpening, every step was hands-on and well-explained. But most importantly - his patience and enthusiasm really made me wanna become a blacksmith 🤣😁. Watching raw steel transform into a razor-sharp knife under his guidance was nothing short of amazing. If you’re looking for a unique, immersive experience, Ivan’s class is a must. Highly recommended for anyone interested in blacksmithing or handmade craftsmanship!

I absolutely love doing the blacksmithing workshops with Ivan. I've gone multiple times. I've done both the group sessions in the field, which are a great way to have fun with a group. Then I have also done smaller sessions at his workshop. With so many things being mass-produced, I love being able to walk away with something handmade and unique. This is a great activity if you need to relieve stress by hammering away at some hot metal or just get away from Split to see the lovely village of Muć. I highly recommend booking a group session or a smaller individual session. Both are great options.
