Vrhunsko iskustvo, luda zabava, 11/10! Ivan je izuzetno vjest majstor ali i sjajan ucitelj. Naucili smo svaki korak procesa od oblikovanja ostrice do zavrsnih detalja, i na kraju smo kuci ponjeli noz koji smo sami iskovali! Ivan and his blacksmithing class was legitimately one of the biggest highlights of our trip. We didn't have much time to do the full knife class (even though I wanted to) but he still took us to his forge and showed myself and my two friends how to make a small leaf keychain. He was extremely helpful with finding his place and treated us to some fresh tomatoes, home baked bread, and salami when we arrived. He showed us all around his property, and answered all of our weird questions about blacksmithing and more. Seriously, even if you don't care about blacksmithing, it's worth swinging by just to meet Ivan. You can tell he cares deeply for the work he does and it shows through with the classes he teaches. My little leaf is still on my keychain from last summer and it's by far my favorite souvenir I've gotten in awhile.

Generalno odlično iskustvo. Fenomenalna prilika za svakoga tko se želi zabaviti, nešto naučiti i steći uvid u svijet kovanja. Na kraju dana odlaziš ponosan na sebe i na predmet koji si napravio. Odlična atmosfera, instrukcija i lokacija. Bilo nas je 7-8, instruktor donio opremu u polje, radilo se u timovima po dvoje. Prvo izradili vršak strijele za zagrijavanje i osnovne kretnje kovanja pa izrađivali kovački nož. Savršen dan u prirodi i društvu, kroz fizičku aktivnost i učenje nove vještine.

Made my own hand made knife with Ivan help and guidance. Great way to experience Mediterranean old ways, and create original souvenir. Can't promise you can make it in one go, but the best part is double. Friend made a quirky bottle opener. The rummers say when the job is done some beer tends to show up.

As for total begginer I was happy as little kid when we went on Ivan's blacksmiting course. He is great teacher and even better hoast. By the end of the class, I had forged my own piece, which was an amazing feeling of accomplishment.I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning a new skill, whether you're a complete beginner or have some prior experience. It’s a fantastic way to connect with an ancient craft and create something with your own hands.

Ivan and his family are excellent hosts, and Ivan is also an excellent blacksmith from whom you can learn this skill. In addition to the workshop, Ivan also has a lot of valuable and today's forgotten knowledge about sustainable and ecological ways of life.

Na poklon sam dobio radionicu kovanja kod Ivana – iskustvo koje ću dugo pamtiti. Gledajući emisiju “Vatreni kovači”, rodila se u meni fascinacija prema ovom starom zanatu, ali nisam ni slutio da se netko u našim krajevima njime još uvijek aktivno bavi. Ivan nas je dočekao s osmijehom, a svojim toplim, prijateljskim pristupom i velikim znanjem uspio je prenijeti dio te čarolije kovanja na nas. Proveli smo predivno poslijepodne u njegovoj kovačnici, a kući ponijeli vlastoručno izrađen nož – uspomenu koja ima i osobnu i simboličnu vrijednost. Sigurno se vraćam na još radionica! Od srca preporučujem svakome tko želi doživjeti nešto posebno.

We attended this workshop as a small group of friends - me being the only girl in the group - and I thought that I'll slow down the process and make everyone wait a lot. It was quite cold outside as well since it was November. But as soon as we started, and Ivan began telling us all about this exciting path from a piece of metal to a sharp and trusty kitchen knife, I forgot about the cold. He was very patient with all of us and took the time to answer every question, as well as to help us repair any accidents that had happened along the way. I recommend checking out Ivan's work and his workshops, it is such an unique and special experience!! Also, girls, don't be afraid to approach hammer and anvil, it's not only for the guys 😇
