I worked on several projects in the company, and few of those I was a solo dev. I was requested to work overtime, only to get a fraction of that paid back, because the project didn't have enough funding to pay for the overtime I was expected to do (due to some emergency requests). Hell, i was called once during a friends bday party, and i worked there..... in his apartment... On one of the projects that was new at the time, there was also a new project manager thst was just hired. I'm not gonna mention that person by name, but he was basically doing mobing on a tester colleague and myself. Company had 3 testers at the time, and it was near impossible to get one assigned to your project for like a week. One time, he yelled at me in front of the firm because I didn't start doing a task (which didn't slow anyones progress or block another dev from doing their tasks). My reason behind was that senior and mid dev complained on the lack of tasks for the project daily, and since I was solo on one project with more pressing matters at the time, I devoted mostly to that one during those 2 days, because it seemed more important than adding a label or 2 on the following tasks of the new project (sure it was a 5 minute task but thats why I didn't bother with it at the time, as there werent any other tasks for me as well). I didn't report this pm, but someone did... and his attitude got worse afterward, but then he mostly kept it behind closed doors ie daily meetings. He was fired about half a year before I left unrelated to me. Their education is good for standard dev. However issue there is that they use their in house solution to "entity framework" and they don't teach (at least back then they didn't) about it until you are thrown onto a project. Documentation is also outdated. Colleagues were mostly great, and I still keep in touch with some of them, but the company policies and management were not ... adequate.
