This could, so easily have been a 5* review if not for a few quirks. ||We were delighted on arrival at Dubrovnik airport to learn from the Jet2 rep that Cavtat was only 10 mins away so we soon found ourselves at the Hotel after landing. However, we arrived around 12noon and when we went to reception, were told that our room would not be ready until 2pm. This was the first negative! For a 5* hotel to be so dis-organised so as not to prioritise cleaning rooms for guests arriving, is terrible. On top of this, in 30+degree temperatures, we, nor the other guests sat around waiting for rooms, were offered complimentary cold drinks of any kind or complimentary lunch. Even a light lunch would have been something; some fruit, water, a sandwich or salad etc. Instead we ended up paying approx 12 euros each for lunch. Not a great start!||Of course, come 2pm, there was a surge of guests wanting keys for their rooms. Our room was one of the newly refurbished rooms and on the whole, it was lovely. We were lucky enough to have a nice view of the bay overlooking Cavtat. We were booked in for 10 nights but when we opened the wardrobe doors, there was only a token handful of hangers and certainly not enough for 2 adults. We had to put about 4 items on each hanger and even then, there wasn't enough for all of our clothes. ||The hotel is in a lovely position and whilst there are steps down to the beach area, for those not fit enough, there is a complimentary shuttle buggy. The buggy takes around 5/6 passengers at a time so we did see people queuing sometimes. Although there were about 4 of these buggies, we only ever saw one in use most times and very occasionally, two.||We had a good walk around both bays of Cavtat and my honest opinion was Hotel Croatia was the most premium looking of them all. The pool area is nice and there are endless free towels to use for either the pool or the 'private beach' area. The gym is on the small side so the few times my wife did venture to use it, it was quite busy. The gym doesn't open until 8am but it would have been nice if it opened earlier.||We used the beach area every day as both of our adult children prefer swimming in the sea. There is nothing to stop other members of the public or guests from other hotels wandering in but there is a sign saying that loungers are for guests only. However, this was abused. It would have been the easiest thing in the world to issue guests with wrist bands, similar to those in all inclusive resorts, so they were easily identifiable. We often saw people on loungers who obviously weren't guests and there was no one appearing to police this. The only other negative re the beach and the pool area, was the parasols. Again, for a top hotel, they were very small and flimsy. We saw a couple blow over in winds one day but something a little more robust would have stood more of a fighting chance.||There is the option to order drinks at any of the bar areas, beach bar, pool bar, piano bar etc, and you can either pay at the time or ask for it to be added to your room. We overheard one lady give her room number and surname. This was the only check done. Anyone overhearing this could have used the same details. Again, there must be a better system to ensure there is no fraud. For this reason, we paid as we went.||Staff wise, the stars of the show, without a doubt, are the housekeeping team. They never failed to greet us with smiles and 'hellos' or 'good morning' as we walked past them in corridors. They kept both our room and the whole hotel immaculate and were, hands down, the most friendly bunch of staff on site. I'm not saying the others were awful but all others could learn a lot from the housekeeping staff. One thing that does deserve a mention here is the 'chocolate fairy', as we liked to call her. Apart from the daily clean of your room, every evening when we returned to our rooms, the curtains had been drawn and 2 chocolates were left on the side. Such a small thing but what a lovely idea.||Food wise, we stayed on a B&B basis and, have to say, the breakfast selection was excellent. My wife is coeliac and was delighted that there was a designated 'Gluten Free' area with cereals, bread, croissants etc. Unfortunately, there was no separate toaster to be able to toast the bread but it was the thought that counts. We didn't try any of the evening meals as we enjoyed walking into Cavtat each evening. Apart from the first day we only had lunch once. We had sandwiches and a salad, which were all very nice. When entering the restaurant for breakfast, again, there was zero policing to ensure you were actually a guest, which really surprised us. There were around 4 members of staff on the entrance but not one of them asked us for our room numbers. This could easily have been abused. Again, the use of wristbands to use during the stay would be such an easy solution.||Cavtat itself is small and beautiful. We tried a different restaurant each evening apart from returning to two of our favourites on the last two nights. The menus are very similar in each restaurants, borderline identical. However, we didn't have one bad meal during the whole stay. ||Overall, would we stay at Hotel Croatia again, yes definitely. It wasn't perfect but pretty damn close.

Having just returned from a holiday staying in Hotel Croatia and I can honestly say we had a very relaxing time. The hotel situated on a hill has the most stunning views from most areas. We booked a refurbished sea view room and we were not disappointed. The room was lovely with a great en-suite and lovely view. We had a good sized balcony which was not overlooked and very peaceful to sit out. The room was cleaned daily and it even had a turn down in the early evening with a complimentary chocolate each night. We had half board and the breakfast was completely adequate. A great selection of almost everything you could want, and the eggs and pancakes were being cooked fresh you couldn’t really complain about anything. Whenever you went in it wasn’t long before a member of the waiting staff approached you for your tea or coffee order which was immediately delivered to your table. They were frequently clearing away used dishes and the staff were very approachable and friendly, as were all the staff in the hotel. |We didn’t use the pool area but we did go to the Spinaker sea area and there were a good amount of sunbeds and umbrellas and it was easy to get a towel to use in the area which you returned at the end of the day. The staff there were very helpful if you needed anything. |The buggy that ran 24/7 to help any trips up and down the hill was anazing and if you waited and it didn’t appear a quick phone call to the hotel and down it came. Just perfect. My husband celebrated his birthday whilst we were there, we didn’t even mention it to the hotel but when we returned to our room on the day there was a beautiful cake waiting for him. That was such a lovely thing to do and it was delicious and very much appreciated. |Considering how many people stay in this hotel I am not sure how they could possibly do anything any better than they are. We visited this hotel in 2018 and now in 2025 it was just as good as we remembered. We loved our holiday and hopefully will return again next year. Croatia is beautiful. Thank you to all the staff in Hotel Croatia for making our holiday special.

Well where do I start .....at the beginning I suppose we normally do a lot smaller hotels than this the place is huge but don't let that out you off ..things I liked first of all ...the hotel is spotless and on arrival the front of house very helpful and polite to say the least we booked a superior room with a sea view...right going to go off track a bit ...the hotel has 10 floors if you want a sea view the room from floor 10 to I think 7 have been refurbished and they are doing floors 7 to 1 refurbishment after this season so Ive been told ...we had a room on the first floor and the room and the view was amazing room cleaning daily absolutely no complaints from us ...we paid on a half board basis and the food was fantastic breakfast plenty of choice and the evening meal we only used 3 times out the week because cavtat is to beautiful to miss and eat besides the harbour..pools ....both pools are salt water fresh pools and we never struggled to get a sun bed at any time ...went down at 10 ish put our towels down and chilled ....had a couple of spa treatments while we was there and both hit the spot lovely..so in conclusion hotel lovely.... staff hard working and polite...food no complaints all in all a steady 8 /10 ....and finally tricks and tips ....if you have hip and /or knee issues you may need a room higher up with a walk in shower not a bath as you might struggle to step in and out of the bath ...the stairs down to the restaurant might be a bit of a challenge to if your unsteady but they have a lift at the side to take you down if you have ...for the size of the hotel you only have to remember 3 floors .... In the lift 5 for the pools and spa ..r for reception...your own floor ...easy I'm a daft lad off a council estate and I didn't get lost ...trips definitely do Dubrovnik but do it early as it gets busy and hot 🔥..we went 830 ....sunset cruise fabulous only and hour but well worth it lovely to watch the sun ☀️ go down and drinks are included..trip to the waterfalls and Bosnia we did it but it's tiring for what it is so I'd leave that one and we did it 9 hours on the bus ...so go on get it booked we are so glad we did cavtat is beautiful

Hard decision to be honest. This hotel was okay, pretty much across the board. Nothing outstanding sadly. It's a little tired, the food is okay, the service is okay, the pool is okay (not many sunbeds around the pool are in the sunshine mainly due to so many trees. The indoor pool is huge so no complaints there. The buffet restaurant lacks atmosphere, it's more like a step back to the 1950's (long before we were born by the way!) Rooms are okay, the bathroom was okay (although no extractor fan so steamed up very quickly). Most of the staff are decent and helpful. Tui has given this hotel a 5* rating which is well wide of the mark. In our honest opinion it's somewhere around 3.5*. One positive ... fabulous views. We had a lovely time there, but would we go back? .... mmmm very unlikely.

Our 2nd visit to Cavtat, but 1st stay at this amazing hotel.|We stayed for 7 nights through Tui, came back last Sunday|1st, lovely short transfer from Dubrovnik Airport, arrived at lunchtime, and room wasn't ready, no problem ( we had a beer on the terrace at the hotel), great Reception friendly staff, who honoured our room request sea view 6th floor renovated, ||Room - 602||Was just perfect. views to die for, beautiful bathroom, full coffee teas milk, free safe, mini bar which we didn't use, but did use for our own drinks to keep cool, AND thank you for our Cava for our anniversary in our room on arrival ..so sweet of them||Air con was too warm set too 22 Degrees, so reception kindly turned it down for us, lovely.|Bed was ever so comfortable, and fab TV with lots of channels, music etc, Slippers robes, and maids come round about 5pm with a turn down service towels etc and lovely chocolates (great big fluffy towels )|Slept so well , ||Restaurant ||All I can say is Perfect. The food at Breakfast was amazing as was Dinner, there was so much choice, Food hot, and freshly prepared, I cannot understand people saying that the evening meal was poor, its was absolute beautiful, I miss the food so much , the restaurant staff were incredible, friendly, efficient, nothing was too much trouble.. Hello to everyone and thank you. A POINTER the staff will allow you too have tap water with your evening meals, its lovely water and cold so no need for bottled,, we did have wine and ice tea most nights though lol||The Buggy ||We used the buggy quite a lot, but we are quite able bodied, so did walk up and down the steps most days, you can also use the road instead of the steps if you want.||Sometimes there's a few people waiting for the buggy, but remember this service can be used 24hrs, so call the hotel if your out and they will send one down for you.||Pool area, bar sunbathing||Now this one is a tough one||The pool outside is beautiful , but alas we couldn't get a bed any day we were there, people put towels down and never seen again all day. We used the side terraces that are dotted about the hotel, they have beds, brollies etc, so not really a Biggy All was lovely and peaceful at these areas, the inside pool was lovely, great showers and toilets cleaning is immaculate,|There is a private beach down near the spinnaker restaurant which is a suntrap, , and also the cliff side this was a lovely sunny spot to sunbathe|Beach towels free to use, just collect from the inside pool area - Staff will give them too you.| Pool bar a little bit more pricier Still cheaper than UK :), but they are in the Euro now.,, but lovely staff and do serve incredible drinks, we also had lunch there on the Saturday and food was beautiful large portions, and quite good prices. chicken wrap fries and salad about 12E Beer was 4.80E||There is a spa offering massages, facials etc, Hairdressers and a shop with gifts, very nice too, There's also information if you want to buy excursions. and days out, ||The views are just unbelievable, so breath taking. clear waters, just perfect||Every member of staff work hard, reception , the buggy guys, the bar staff , the restaurant staff, and cleaning is impeccable, every single person that works here are diamonds, and deserve the praise. you are all amazing. and I thank you for our perfect stay. thanks also for my Gemišt :) ||As I have been too Cavtat before, I can only say one thing...Go.... It is absolutely breath-taking, Il be posting all my reviews on bars/Restaurants today, Also my Dubrovnik trip, and the beautiful Mega Yachts. |Hopefully be back next year, funds permitting , 10/10

A lovely hotel, very spacious with polite & friendly staff. Our room was superb with sea views, all clean & modern. The indoor & outdoor pools were good, with towels supplied if required. Bar serving drinks & snacks. The hotel is on a hill and it's a walk down to the sea front, where the hotel has sun beds and the Spinnaker restaurant which is good for a lunchtime meal.. The views are outstanding of Cavtat from here. Kayaks can be hired and SUP boards for 20 euros for 1 hour. There are golf buggies that travel up & down the hill, making the walk into Cavtat easier, especially welcome in the heat

傍晚1930反應給飯店問題,飯店確實有派人來房間查看,也有去機房看狀況,但進來就說已經有冷氣了,但真的就是沒有,畢竟我們「連住兩個晚上」,對於室內溫度的感受以及兩天溫度的落差還是有感覺的,維修人員只說已經有冷氣了,然後就離開。維修人員說有冷氣了,是因為從炎熱的走廊走到「沒冷氣但有送風」的房間,當然會說有涼!
經理來過,無法處理任何問題,只說已經滿房了!然後呢?問題依舊沒有解決,住客的權益在哪裡?這就是一間飯店的處理方式嗎?危機處理的訓練?難道沒有更好的解決辦法嗎?
目前開了你們沒冷氣的空調四小時了,室內溫度還比戶外溫度高!說修好了?
只能讓旅客開窗休息睡覺嗎?
也許我只是連續住兩天的過客,但該負責的員工,也不應該用這種消極的態度對待客人,即便飯店擁有再好的位置跟景色。對於正常的住客來說,我是受害者,你們如果沒準備好,那就不要出來經營飯店,或慎選員工及機電設備廠商。
00:00再度到櫃檯,櫃檯人員只說請經理明天來我再跟他說,請問有什麼用?我只想解決眼前問題,請求是否有冰塊或電風扇,櫃檯人員說通知了,在房間等待還是沒收到冰塊
00:35撥打至客服部門說還要十分鐘,等到00:50終於送來一小桶冰塊,只能自製冰枕放在肚子上降溫
真是令人印象深刻的一間飯店!!

Comfort, Cleanliness, and welcoming
From the moment arrived and car parked for us. I checked in, I felt genuinely welcomed. The front desk and buggy/car staff were professional and friendly, always ready to help. We were early so couldn't get in room but could use facilities. Need key card to get back in if you go to beach area so make sure you ask for one or be stuck like us till someone walked past. Our room was spacious, modern, and very clean, with a cozy bed and high-quality linens, bathrobe and slippers. The stocking of tea and coffee by house keeping wasnt great had to ask for sweetners and milk as ran out, evening chocolate was a nice touch. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious, with something for everyone. Although busy, appreciated the quiet atmosphere, around the hotel which made it easy to relax after a long day. Downside. Not enough beds for guests at pool. Pool and outside beach areas not open till 8am so no early morning swiming, then mad rush with people securing sun beds in the sun. Other major point is they could do with free ice and water around hotel. Only place to get cold water was in wellness suite. Had to ask at bars for ice and aater or pay 4.30 euro for small bottle.The golf buggys down to bay and back greatly apprecuated as a difficult walk. Would say a very good 4 star given points highlighted but would recommend

Fantastic experience at this great hotel. Amazing views, great staff, fantastic food. We loved the golf cart taxis provided free to take us up and down the hill to Cavtat harbour. Ideal place for a relaxing peaceful week or two.

Excellent hotel , excellent location and excellent customer service ,very safe hotel and Very friendly and helpful staff with great communication and customer care. Highly recommended and definitely book this hotel again. Only the negative side it was quite difficult to find a cleared table for breakfast and when approaching staff for assistance I felt as I was bothering them ,that’s all otherwise everything else was just perfect.
