The owner was lovely and very hospitable, and the location was not bad, but other than that not many redeeming factors. The volunteer staff were so unprofessional; barged into our room bang-on 10am after our roommates checked out and were swearing and complaining about their coworkers and their job while changing the sheets. The kitchen was constantly dirty. There was no privacy in the rooms, very exposed (strange for mixed dorms might I add), no ability even to put a towel across for some decency. The showers were defective-- one didn't have a head. My friend had hair in her bed. Overall somewhat soured our Split experience, which is disappointing. Honestly... stay somewhere else.

This hostel is a short walk to the beach, the supermarkets, the Old Town and a bakery. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the hostel itself has good facilities, including an outside seating area and a washing machine, good sized rooms and comfortable beds. One of the mornings we stayed, Ocean, one of the volunteering members of staff, had set up a breakfast of avocado, toast, and tea and coffee, as a breakfast for all the guests, which was really nice.

The people working there try their best, so this comment ist not against them. I arrived at the hostel and google maps brought to another address close to a football field in the same street. I needed to ask around to know where the hostel was. When I arrived I realised that it's cash only, so I had to drop out some in order to finally check-in, which is not a problem, but I received no invoice for that, which makes it a bit weird. Once paid and checked-in I found an extremely dirty room with a lot of dust and very dirty floor. Also the window was very dirty as you can see from the pictures. The mattress was not so bad, but the bed structure was extremely noisy. When I came back at 3 am on my second night there, I found someone occupying my bed and all my stuffs were on the dusty floor under the bed. I had to rearrange my reservation, because "something happened in the system". Guys, I worked for years in hostels and hotels. I know perfeclty how it works. The position is good, close to the beach and also to the center.

The inscriptions on the wall are a matter of taste :-D but anything else was fine. A very friendly guy from the hostel carefully explained everything to me, even though I was only staying one night. All equipment is modern and clean. If you use the "secret" back exit of the main station it's only a 10 min walk.
