A very unique church in the marshlands! Went on a Sunday morning, got to see Abit of the interior of the church, full of wood. They were having Sunday service so we got to hear their choir sing. A very small and compact church with a lovely church building 👍

This is an architectural gem by the OG Starchitect Jože Plečnik from Slovenia. There are certainly more glamorous churches on this planet, but few are as unique and quirky as this one. I recommend that you bring your camera. St. Michael's Church will mesmerise you.

Absolut sehenswert, diese Kirche von Plecnik. Wenn man Glück hat, trifft man jemanden an, der einem die Tür öffnet. Auf der Website gibt es auch die Möglichkeit, lange im Voraus anzufragen. Der Glockenturm mit der spektakulären Außentreppe ist natürlich nicht zugänglich. Das Innere ist reich mit Holz ausgekleidet. Eine große Plecnik-Büste steht in einer Ecke.

Cerkev sv. Mihaela na Barju stoji ob cesti, ki pelje v Crno vas in je zanimiv, lep primer sakralne arhitekture arhitekta Jožeta Plečnika. V tej arhitekturi se kažejo izčiščena zamisel in izvedba načrta, visoko obrtno znanje slovenskih obrtnikov ter danosti prostora in domačega okolja.

Very Ameno, much Dorime
