I’ve been to many castles by now in Europe, but this was definitely one of my favorites. Free to enter, but some parts are ticketed. Innovative and quirky, much like the vibes I got from Ljubljana, the castle offers paid tour tickets where you can learn the history of the castle in a fun way. There’s a themed one (which I went) where characters came dressed in medieval garb while retelling tales of old, and an escape game one. These tours can also come with a ticket to enter the castle attractions as well as include a funicular ride(s). Some hostels and hostels allow you to have a discounted price too! There’s also a cafe, restaurant and a souvenir shop.

We did the Escape Castle! It's an escape room/scavenger hunt throughout the castle. The ticket for the game is the same cost as for the castle and is totally worth it! Fun for the whole family! I really recommend it! It's a way to experience a castle unlike any other.
