Very disappointed with Croatia Bus.
Our bus from Zagreb to Venice on August 2, 2025 was delayed by 1 hour and 30 minutes with no proper explanation, poor assistance, and poor communication from the staff. Platform from the apps far away different to actual.
Despite EU regulations requiring care for long-distance delays, we received nothing — not even basic updates. I submitted a complaint with all the details and proof, and they just ignored it.
If you’re planning to travel with them, don’t count on professionalism or support when things go wrong. Avoid if you value reliability or customer service

Extremely disappointing experience – avoid if possible
We booked a FlixBus trip from Ljubljana to Zagreb on July 25th, with a scheduled arrival at 16:30. Not only did we arrive after 18:00, but there was no delay at the border (only some traffic before Zagreb), which means the delay is entirely due to the company’s poor planning or route choice.
The bus clearly took secondary and unnecessarily slow roads, probably to avoid highway tolls, even though it did not stop in any village or intermediate station.
To make matters worse, the air conditioning was not working, making the entire ride uncomfortable and unbearable in the summer heat.
Additionally, when we boarded, another passenger was sitting in our assigned seats, and when we informed the FlixBus staff, they refused to address the issue and told us to “just sit wherever you find space.” Completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior.
FlixBus presents this route as a fast and comfortable option, but this is absolutely misleading. The service is unreliable, uncomfortable, and disorganized.
Definitely not recommended!!!

The one thing a bus station needs to be able to do is tell you the correct platform for your bus. Unfortunately this seems to be beyond the staff here. Even though I arrived 30 minutes before my departure, I missed my Flixbus bus because the platform information provided was wrong and the staff were nowhere to be found until too late for clarification. Why there isn't an electronic departure board showing the correct platform numbers in the bus station itself is a mystery. Like a third-world bus station. Truely hopeless experience.

Dajem jednu zvjezdicu jer mi ne dopušta da dam nulu. Za početak, prošli tjedan sam putovao iz Belgije u Zagreb i ukraden mi je kofer. To je proizašlo iz nepažnje osoblja koje nema kontrolu niti brige s koferima koji idu u kabinu (ne daju im nikakvu kartu i puštaju svatko da uzme kofer koji želi). Zatim sam otišao u urede na glavnom kolodvoru u Zagrebu pitati o tome i podnijeti pritužbu. Osoba koja je bila na prodajnom mjestu jako se loše ponašala prema meni. Vikao je na mene i rekao mi da moram govoriti hrvatski ako sam u Hrvatskoj i turist sam. Govorim španjolski i engleski. Bio sam jako pristojan, ali ovaj radnik iz vaše tvrtke bio je užasan! Nema obrazovanja, užasno, najgore iskustvo i najgori tretman koji sam imao na svim svojim putovanjima.

The Flixbus lounge toilet costs €.50, but they have no toilet paper and no soap. When asked for these items, the station attendant, who previously invited me to pay for the toilet, conceded that they have no supplies because "it's new." Also there was poop smeared all over one of the two toilets. Unacceptable for facilities provided by the company for its customers.

Service je bilo ispod svake kritike, potpuno nezainteresirano čak i da sasluša vaša pitanja. Na kraju smo morali pitati osoblje u kafićima. Radnici radije sjede s mobitelima i ne mogu ni spustiti kad im se obraćate. Lounge je s druge strane bio dobar, a nikakvu uslugu ovdje ne trebate očekivati.

This lounge is accessible to all FlixBus passengers and is a convenient option, especially for those with longer layovers. It offers a good range of facilities, including free WiFi, comfortable seating, and charging points for electronic devices. There are also two vending machines available — one for hot beverages and another for cold drinks — both reasonably priced.
Access to the restroom costs 50 cents, but it was clean, well-maintained, and hygienic, which was appreciated.
The only downside was the attitude of the staff. When I asked for some information in English, they seemed somewhat hesitant and unhelpful, which made the interaction a bit uncomfortable. However, there is a screen in front of the reception displaying all FlixBus departures and arrivals, which is quite useful and reduces the need to ask for assistance.
Overall, aside from the unwelcoming response from the staff, I had a pleasant experience. The lounge serves its purpose well and offers a comfortable space to wait between trips.

Neprofesionalno i nehumano!
Dana 04.07.2025. planirala sam putovati Flix busom (relacija Skradin - Zagreb - direkt) na koncert Marka Perkovića Thompsona, zajedno sa prijateljicom. Autobusne karte kupljene su mjesec dana prije polaska. Ususret megaspektaklu i najvećem domoljubnom koncertu na našim prostorima, kašnjenje i gužva na cesti bili su očekivani i donekle opravdani. No, apsolutno je neprihvatljivo i krajnje bezobrazno, nekulturno i nehumano da se direktan put od 4 h pretvori u - ni više ni manje nego put od 13 h s presjedanjem!
Iskustvo je sljedeće:
1. Početni šok (još uvijek očekivan i prihvatljiv) = kašnjenje Flix autobusa 110 min, o čemu smo bile obaviještene u njihovoj mobilnoj aplikaciji
2. Nastavak šoka (= blagi nervni slom) - umjesto u 1.45h, prema poruci u aplikaciji, autobus i dalje kasni i "stiže" u Skradin u 16.10h (tad smo trebali biti na pola puta!)
3. Nervoza na vrhuncu - ponovo poruka u aplikaciji Flixa da autobus kasni i da stiže u 17h
Svaki normalan čovjek zapitao bi se i shvatio da se radi o pretjeranom kašnjenju. Osim ako autobus nisu napali svemirci koji su (prema nekim navodima) trebali stići na Hipodrom! :)
Pokušavamo stupiti u kontakt sa korisničkom službom. Nakon nekoliko bezuspješnih pokušaja, javlja nam se agentica. Daje nam informaciju da je autobus krenuo i pokvario se, o čemu naravno - nismo bili niti bismo bili obaviješteni da nismo na jedvite jade stupile u kontakt s navedenom gospođom. Svi putnicu koji su bili u pokvarenom autobusu zbrinuti su na vrijeme i sigurno su stigli do svoga odredišta, osim nas koji smo se nalazili na stanici u Skradinu i čekali "milost". Autobus je bio popunjen, zajedno sa idućim i posljednjim toga dana, koji je trebao voziti na istoj relaciji! Dakle, ostajemo bez prijevoza (iako smo kupili karte mjesec dana unaprijed). Za nas se nisu mislili pobrinuti. Realno, da smo odmah dobile obavijest kako je autobus u kvaru ili je otkazan umjesto "kašnjenja", na vrijeme bi se snašle. Ovako smo čekale od 1.45h na stanici u Skradinu do 19.45h da bi nas do Zadra (koji uopce nije bio u planu puta) odvezao Flix bus kojeg nam je agentica preporučila i napravila nam zamjenu karata.
U Zadru smo čekale još 1 h zbog presjedanja.
Konačno, u 22h krećemo noćnim autobusom i stižemo u Zagreb nešto iza 2 h u noći...
Tako se naše, unaprijed planirano i direktno putovanje od Skradina do Zagreba od max 4 h, pretvorilo u 13 satno putovanje (po noći!) s presjedanjem u Zadru.
Kranje iscrpljujuće, nehumano i nekulturno.
Hvala dragom Bogu, Gospi i našem Marku Perkoviću Thomsonu zbog kojeg je sve ovo vrijedilo izdržati.
A od Flix kompanije, najmanje što očekujem za pretrpljeni šok, jest povrat novca.

Had a transfer in Zagreb. Never again.
The lounge bathroom was out of order (seems like it’s always closed from other reviews). The lounge was clean, but the two women working there were super rude and had zero empathy.
We got there at 5 am it opens at 6. I was sitting quiet without shoes. One of them came and yelled at my friend and me “Get up! No sleep! OUT!”
We weren’t dirty or causing any trouble, just waiting for the next bus.
Ended up waiting 2 hours outside on a stinky bench. Then the second bus toilet didn’t work either.
Really bad vibes. Never taking this route again

I have been to 10 countries. My experience with FlixBus in Croatia is by far the single worst expirience that I’ve had in all of them. Firstly my bus was delayed for more than 1 hour. I went to buy new tickets for another bus through a FlixBus machine. The transaction went through, the money was taken from me and I had an official receipt but no tickets came out. Then the guy in the bus said that I needed tickets so I went inside to the lady in the FlixBus information Center. She told me that she had nothing to do with the machine and that it was not the same as her and the tickets were not the same. The lady who had the word “FLIXBUS” above her head who, by her words, said that she gives tickets only for FlixBus rides. Then she said that I needed new tickets. I had at that point bought 4 tickets for 2 people and she wanted me to get new ones cause she said that the machine that said “FlixBus Tickets” had nothing to do with her even though she gives “FlixBus Tickets”. Nevertheless they refused let me get in even after I bought the tickets and now I’m waiting for the next one. I repeat for anyone not getting this right. The lady who sold “FlixBus Tickets” had nothing to do with the machine that sold “FlixBus Tickets” and the tickets were NOT THE SAME. Then she told me to call a the Center for information and they never answered even after waiting for more than 10 minutes on the line. 10 countries. More than 20 different kinds of buses, trains etc. By far the single worst of them all.
EDIT : I had interaction with 5-6 people, drivers and assistants. Every single one of them was rudest than the other. I demand an answer from someone from FlixBus. This is the single worst experience in MY LIFE. NO HUMAN should ever be treated like this. I demand an answer and firing of every single person working in the FlixBus Lounge in Zagreb as soon as possible. Worst experience and the worst people on the planet.

Sa razlogom imaju niske ocene.
Putovanje od Zagreba do Plitvičkih jezera sa FlixBusom bilo je potpuno frustrirajuće. Autobus je kasnio čak 40 minuta, što je značilo da nisam mogla iskoristiti povratnu kartu, a FlixBus nije bio voljan refundirati moju štetu. Kao rezultat toga, morala sam da platim dodatne troškove za noćenje i novu kartu za Arrivu.
Kada sam pozvala dispečera da izložim prigovor zbog kašnjenja, odgovoreno mi je da je autobus prethodna dva dana kasnio po dva i po sata. I, što je najgore, rečeno mi je da je to "normalno" i da ništa nije do njih. Ovakvo ponašanje i totalna nesigurnost u vezi sa vremenom dolaska i odlaska autobusa je potpuno neprihvatljivo, naročito kada planirate putovanje i imate stroge obaveze.
Osim toga, još jedna velika obmana je bila da je na sajtu pisalo kako autobusi imaju Wi-Fi, što se ispostavilo kao netačno. Wi-Fi nije bio dostupan, što dodatno povećava frustraciju, jer se putnici oslanjaju na ovakve usluge tokom dužih putovanja.
Dok sam bila zadovoljna samim vozilom i vozačem, usluga FlixBusa u ovom slučaju bila je daleko od onoga što se očekuje od jedne ozbiljne i međunarodne kompanije. Ako planirate putovanje sa FlixBusom, budite spremni na potencijalna kašnjenja i imajte u vidu da ne možete računati na obećane usluge.
Terrible experience with delays, irresponsibility, and false promises
My journey from Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes with FlixBus was incredibly frustrating. The bus was delayed by 40 minutes, meaning I missed my return ticket, and FlixBus refused to refund me. As a result, I had to pay for extra accommodation and buy a new ticket with Arriva.
When I called their dispatcher to file a complaint about the delay, I was told that the bus had been delayed by over two and a half hours for the past two days. The worst part was that I was told this was “normal” and that it was “not their fault.” This kind of behavior and complete lack of certainty regarding arrival and departure times is completely unacceptable, especially when you’re on a tight schedule.
Additionally, another major letdown was that the website promised Wi-Fi on board, which was completely unavailable. This only added to the frustration, as passengers expect such services during longer journeys.
While I was satisfied with the bus and the driver, the service from FlixBus in this particular case was far below expectations for a company of their scale. If you plan on traveling with FlixBus, be prepared for potential delays and keep in mind that the promised services may not always be available.
