No pretensions, a family atmosphere where you can see generations of the family at work in the kitchen, the food is fresh and the dishes affordable, and the staff are welcoming. I loved it.

Dining at Stagnum was nothing short of a culinary delight. Nestled in the heart of Ston, this charming family-run restaurant offers an unforgettable experience, especially for those who appreciate the finest from the sea. The oysters were simply exceptional... incredibly fresh, briny, and served with the kind of care that lets their natural flavor shine. The mussels in buzara style were equally outstanding: tender, perfectly cooked, and bathed in a fragrant garlicky white wine sauce that we couldn’t get enough of. We also tried the black risotto, rich with cuttlefish ink and depth of flavor, and the grilled squid, which was beautifully charred on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth tender inside. Every dish reflected both the quality of local ingredients and the passion behind the preparation. To top it all off, we enjoyed the rozata cake with the house wine made by our gracious host Ante himself — a smooth, honest expression of the region that paired perfectly with the meal and added a personal touch to the entire experience. Highly recommended!

Wir waren als Familie 4 Personen hier. Hatten Vorspeisen, 3 verschiedene Suppen, Fischplatte, Pasta, Hähnchen mit Beilage gehabt. Alles war richtig lecker....... Service ist super nett und zuvorkommend. Wir würden definitiv nochmal kommen. ❤️

We came to this restaurant from Dubrovnik twice. Seafood was great, good portion and fresh. My wife had squid and she said that it was the best. The chocolate lava cake was exquisite! Totally worth the trip from Dubrovnik and the best food we had in Croatia.

We chose Stagnum due to it's high rating and general praises read on the reviews. We were quite looking forward to this meal, though I must be honest and say it wasn't anywhere close to what we expected. Starting with the positives, the location is really nice with its own back garden, giving a really nice setting. We also have a nice waiter who, although forgetting our glass of wine, spoke excellent english and was extremely polite. Now, the negatives. We took a Beefsteak and Green Seafood Pasta. I asked for the beef to be cooked rare, Unfortunately it was just about blue (if not raw) as per photo. This was quite disappointing - understanding this is a fish restaurant, you'd still expect a chef to know how to cook a steak as per clients request. As regards to the Green Seafood Pasta, the pasta was well overcooked, the octopus was chewy (again, overcooked) and the mussels were not cleaned. Moreover, the sauce was full of broken shells. We're not the kind of people who stir an issue up in the middle of other guests dinners; but we do suggest making things clear with them when ordering your food as to ensure that food is cooked well, and to avoid our same disappointment.

We had very good pizzas here for a very reasonable price. Exceptionally friendly and efficient service. We sat in courtyard, lovely seating with tree and plants making it very welcoming, but equally as nice outside seating on the quiet street.

Amazing ambient in a garden and great service. Oysters and mussels are as fresh as it gets. Been here few times and can't wait to come back for more grilled fish and oysters. Also it's a family business so we are welcomed by owner each time who has few interesting stories to tell as well. :)

Great house wine and grilled oysters, the mussels were not great tho, they were not cleaned properly before serving. The ambiance does compensate as it is in a nice reserved area and feels like their own home

Postovani Ugostitelji, postovani Gosti Restauranta Stagnum u gradu Stonu tik ispod drevnih Stonskih zidina, u Petak, 27.06.2025., trazeci mjesto da kusamo svjetski poznate stonske Kamenice i riblje specijalitete odabrali upravo Vas Restaurant, Stagnum, prije svega radi Ambienta i Terasse koja je nadkrivena , opasana zidovima, jednim dijelom zelenim stablima Agruma, sto nas se cinilo ugodno, ako znademo da je Temperatura Zraka u Gradu dosegla 34 *C. Sve je bilo pomno odabrano za savrseno kusanje Stonskih Delicija,a onda smo dozivili totalno Razocarenje, naime sve sta je servirano je jedna velika , zalosna hrvatska realnost. Moram napomenuti da smo dvije Osobe (Par) starije dobi , ali volimo kusati, posebno morske Delicije, diljem Mediterana, Europe, ali i nekih dalekih Zemalja, ali ovako nesta lose pripremljeno i servirano Gostu, jos nismo dozivjeli u nasem Zivotu. Nas objed , Rucak, smo zapoceli Kamenicama, porucili 5 Kom., samo jedna je bila relativno friska, a cetiri, skoro u raspadanju, ustajale, pa cak i opasne, na zadnjoj "granici" za konzumiranje. Htjeli smo isprobati vise i odlucili se za Riblju Platu za dvije Osobe - prava Katastrofa, veliko Razocaranje: Brancin, nije dobro ociscen, odmrzavan, Voda se cijedila iz Fileta, nije bio dobro grilliran, nista od hrskave Kozice, koja je 3/4 bila zalijepljena i otvorena, pogulila se, Musle suhe, kao Spuzva, Scampe, po jedna takodjer odmrzavane, Prilog, Krumpir sa Blitvom, ubjedljivo najneukusniji koji smo kusali, a koji uz to volimo konzumirati. Service, vrlo neprofesionalan i nije posvecen svojemu Poslu. I tako smo mi od kompletnog Objeda imali samo jednu frisku Kamenicu i casu ,moram reci , pitkog i dobro ohladjenog bijelog Vina, kao i Bocu Jamnice, sve drugo, jedan Debakl, Fiasco u Resaurantu Stagnum u gradu Stonu - Racun 75 Eu Na zalost, nikada vise i nitkomu ne bih preporucio.
