Really delicious authentic Croatian cuisine. We both had the fish soup to start, then grilled sea bass with veggies and a local dish called pasticada - slow cooked beef with gnocchi. Recommend if you’re in Split as it’s away from the main tourist drag.

Couldn’t find this place to begin with, as previous reviews have said looks nothing from outside. We found everything delicious. I had the creamy prawn soup which was heaven in a bowl, so flavourful. My husband had rump steak and chips and I had veal cutlets with sliced roasted potatoes with bacon, accompanied by the native red pepper sauce. I wanted to also order the black risotto but our waiter said it would be far too much food! Safe to say, it wasn’t just the food that was ‘top notch’ the ambience and service were first class and we left a €20 tip. So glad we found the place as we have another week of our holiday. ****BEWARE ***** Came for lunch and realised quickly we were being treated differently from others. Was not offered the lunchtime menu just given the main menu and service different than in the evening. After ansking the other customer for a look at the menu it was cheaper and what the locals eat which I would have loved to try. Asked our waiter why we weren’t offered the other menu who was dismissive. Told him to stop our order, we’ll just pay for our drinks and be on our way. Such a disappointment, I thought this place was different but you must be aware here else you get ripped off!!

Por duas vezes que tentamos ir ao restaurante foi-nos dito a entrada que estavam encerrados uma das vezes eram 22h e a outra 21:30, onde no Google diz que encerra às 23h. Recomendo então que atualizem o horário de funcionamento.

Sitio que al llegar la fachada no te da muy sensación del todo buena, pero al entrar, ves que es otra historia, bonito, acogedor y personal de 10. me recomendaron plato típico, y fantástico. Recomendable 100 x 100, si regreso a Split, que lo haré. Volveré a este sitio

Absolutely loved eating here. The outside of the restaurant doesn't do the inside the justice that it deserves. We had read in some reviews that the portion sizes were large and so the three of us shared some cold meat cuts and an octopus salad as a starter. The meat was excellent as was the very tender octopus. Our mains consisted of a mixed grill, veal escalope and pašticada, along with salads and potatoes. The gorgonzola sauce was an excellent accompliment to the veal, while the gnocchi and traditional sauce on the beef stew made this the stand out dish. We ended the meal with locally-made shots, on the house, and an extremely reasonable bill. I can see why other reviews praise the Konoba Stare Grede so much. I, too, can definitely recommend this family-style restaurant to anyone looking for good local food at a reasonable price.
