Extremely Disappointed – Worst Hair Experience of My Life I’ve been regularly trimming my hair every three months to keep it healthy and fresh, and I’ve never had a bad experience—until now. Unfortunately, during my visit to Serbia, I decided to try a beauty salon located just downstairs from our building, which supposedly had a good reputation. What a mistake. From the moment I sat down, the hairdresser was cold, unfriendly, and visibly irritated. I honestly couldn’t tell if she disliked her job or just disliked women, but either way, someone with such a negative, aggressive attitude should not be working with people—especially in a service like hairdressing, which requires care and sensitivity. The way she handled my hair was beyond rough—it was abusive. I felt completely frozen in the chair, almost in shock, like I couldn’t fully process what was happening. No hairdresser has ever treated me—or my hair—with such hostility. After the wash, she started brushing my wet, tangled hair without any spray or oil, yanking through it with so much force that my head was being pulled in every direction. It was painful, humiliating, and honestly felt like punishment. When it came time to cut, I explained very clearly that I just wanted a trim on the ends and a small touch-up on the front frame. She asked if I wanted layers, and I said absolutely not. The actual cutting lasted no more than 5–10 minutes—rushed and careless—even though there was no one waiting after me. She clearly just wanted me out of the chair as fast as possible, with zero regard for accuracy or respect. Then came the final blow: at the end, she told me she added layers. What?! I was stunned. She asked if it was okay after doing it, even though I had said no. Why bother asking if you’re going to ignore me? I couldn’t even respond properly in the moment because I was so shocked and upset. Half of my hair had been unnecessarily chopped, and now it will take years to grow back what I’ve lost. I never thought I’d be one of those people with a hair horror story, but this truly was one of the worst experiences of my life. I left feeling violated, heartbroken, and completely disrespected. Avoid this salon if you value your hair, your comfort, or your basic human dignity.
