We booked this accommodation as a group of nine friends. The host asked about our arrival time, and we confirmed between 1–2 a.m. He replied that everything was alright. Our group was traveling from Romania and the UK. The UK group arrived earlier, and upon landing, we were informed that the host had told them he had work the next morning and wouldn’t wait for us or even leave a key somewhere accessible (how is it possible not to offer a secure locker for the key?).
He essentially pressured our friends into driving from Zadar Airport to the accommodation, which is almost two hours away. We had only booked one car, so they left for the accommodation just as we landed. The rest of us waited over two hours in a completely closed airport—with not even a shop open to buy water. (Travelers beware: don’t fly into Zadar at night.)
Our friends had to drive to the villa, then all the way back to pick us up, and then again to the villa. The host had already confirmed that our late arrival was fine, yet acted completely unprofessionally and disrespectfully. He ruined our first vacation day, as we all woke up late after losing an entire night to his poor handling of the situation.
On top of that, the accommodation is absurdly expensive for its so-called “wonderful location.” It’s actually 30–40 minutes up in the mountains, which was not ideal. Rabbits, snakes, and massive spiders everywhere. The pool isn’t heated, and the water was so cold we couldn’t even enjoy it.
Think twice before booking this place.
