This has to be one of the best restaurant in the old town! Everything about it is top notch, from the quality of the food to the ambience of the restaurant, to the sevice of its staff! The octopus salad was fresh and did not disappoint! The tuna steak was cooked just right and was heavenly. The slow cooked beef was so tender that it literally melted in the mouth. I highly recommend Carmen if you are at the old town. Special thank you to Ivan, Anamarija, Avana and Marita who served us. They are best and friendliest staff in Dubrovnik.

Llegar temprano es pertinente si no se quiere esperar 40 min en la fila (hay solo 10 mesas). Se nota que se esforzaron por tener una carta auténtica (en Dubrovnik todos cocinan lo mismo), y eso se agradece. Los precios son altos (¡una ostra a 3,20€! He comido las mejores de Francia y no se acercan a ese precio). La atención es profesional y eficaz, son cordiales. Mi platillo era bueno, pasado de sal, pero de buena calidad. Aún así, concluimos que no entendíamos por qué tanta popularidad.

La nourriture est bonne et le service très agréable. Comme partout a Dubrovnik les petits sont plus élevés mais ce restaurant mérite d'attendre un peu devant.

Japanese people in particular should never go. We were told by the waiter, “We’ll seat you in two minutes,” but we ended up waiting for over 30 minutes. Not only that, but several white customers were allowed to cut in line ahead of us, and in the end, we were even called liars. Japanese people, I urge you — absolutely do not go. This was the worst experience of my life. Our trip to Dubrovnik turned into a terrible memory because of the racist attitude of this restaurant.

The reality didn't match our expectations 😬. The octopus salad and the bread were peerfet but the main Dish and the waitress were no good. It's worth the try tho.

Really tasty food and enjoyed that it was off the beaten track. Not a five star experience, mostly due to the unjustifiably high cost (although said in total awareness of the fact we are in the Old Town), but would absolutely recommend the food and the setting.

We went for lunch so luckily there was an empty table to seat. The appetizer which was spicy shrimp was tasty. The traditional Dalmatian beef with pasta was very tasty. However, the meatballs on in the pasta with meatballs was missing the flavor. The staff were nice. Generally a good place to have a meal in Dubrovnik.

A hidden gem with exceptional food! Moreover the staff is amazing. We went there with our five year old daughter who is very picky on food. We asked the staff if they can prepare something for her and they didn’t have any problem with it. We really enjoyed it and we wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who wants to experience something authentic!

Get here early! They do not take reservations and it is a very small space. Recommend getting here by 6:30 pm if you want to eat around 8. The food was fantastic and the ambiance was great. The host was attentive and even apologized for the long wait. The portions are fairly sustainable.

We stopped into Trattoria Carmen for a quick bite to eat and it was SO GOOD!!! This was my second time eating here and it was just as good as I remembered from 3 years prior. To start, we had the tuna tartare. For our mains, we had the homemade pasta with prawns and truffle and the homemade pasta with burrata and pesto. Both were 10/10!!!

Locale consigliato dal padrone di casa, il locale non accetta prenotazioni perciò consiglio di andare mezz’ora prima. Noi in 4 abbiamo preso due piatti di pasta ai frutti di mare e due calamari, poi abbiamo prato due birre sue dolci e due liquori, in tutto abbiamo pagato 130 euro. La pasta era buona ma ne’ ho mangiata di meglio , invece i calamari erano molto buoni. Consiglio questo locale!!!

No esta mal pero después de una hora haciendo fila y media esperando la comida esperabamos muchisimo más, el precio no es exagerado para lo caro que es todo aquí, son muy amables los camareros pero no volveríamos a esperar tanto

Nous sommes allés quatre fois chez Trattoria Carmen et à chacune de nos visites, la nourriture était excellente et le service impeccable. De loin, un des meilleurs restaurants du vieux port de Dubrovnik.
