Off the beaten path and you find this delightful little restaurant. W what's the Tomahawk steak and the fish and octopus for a total of 4 adults and 1 hungry boy. We polished it off and the secret is the simplicity of the food prep and fresh ingredients. This is where the locals go and the only open grill in Sibenik.

What an experience. Martina greeted us like honoured guests, and made us feel like family. The atmosphere is incredible, it’s cozy but not at all claustrophobic, and open kitchen, so you can watch the chef preparing your food. And he’s watching you, so he can put your main course on the grill at the perfect time, and have it ready as you finish your appetizer! Even though they were quite full when we arrived, it felt like he was there cooking just for us. They make their own olive oil, their own vegeta, even their own pelinkovac. It was an unforgettable experience for me eating here, just a perfect evening all around

Das Tor ist nicht nur ein Tor – es ist der Eingang zu einem kleinen Paradies. Man betritt kein gewöhnliches Restaurant, sondern den Garten von Freunden, die einen herzlich empfangen. Während man den Worten der Gastgeberin lauscht, kann man dem Koch am Grill zusehen. Uns wurde gezeigt, wie die Muscheln zubereitet werden, erklärt, woher der Wein kommt – und nach dem Essen setzte sich der Koch noch für einen kleinen Plausch zu uns. Das Ambiente ist so liebevoll, zeitvergessend, und das Essen einfach unfassbar lecker. Wir freuen uns schon auf ein Wiederkommen – und würden, wenn wir könnten, auch sechs Sterne vergeben.

Piccolo locale nella parte alta del paese. Gestione familiare e proprietaria molto accogliente e cortese. Parla perfettamente Italiano ed è ottima padrona di casa. Piatti fatti con pesce freschissimo e tutto preparato espresso. Eravamo sei persone ed abbiamo passato un'ottima serata. Ci sono un po' di scale da fare, ma ne vale davvero la pena.

Die Rezessionen über diese familiär geführte Konoba können wir nur positiv bestätigen. Wir waren zu Gast und gleichzeitig wie zu Hause. Vorspeise Muschelpfanne. Hauptgang Lamm und Ribeye mit Beilagen. Dazu 2 lokale 0,5 Biere und 1 Liter Sprudelwasser. Absacker aufs Haus. Ausflugtipps gab noch obendrauf. Kommen gerne wieder.

The staff and chef were sooooo lovely and sweet, great hospitality, the atmosphere is so laid back, nice music, excellent lighting and simple decorations but yet so cool. I had such delicious steak, cooked to perfection with vegetables and chips and salad. Was super yummy. Don't miss the chance to eat at this Maxing place, was very adventurous and enjoyable to climb the stairs at night from the sea side to reach the restaurant, with nice lighting over old parts of the town.

Lovely experience of delicious Croatian food and warm hospitality. We had the tuna steak, lamb chops and octopus which were all excellent. Our host Marina also treated us to home made limoncello and shared helpful info on Krka waterfalls which enabled us to have a wonderful visit the next day.
