The food wasn’t bad. But I think we had very bad luck with the waiter. Very pushy and slightly aggressive during order process. Tried to deny us water, which any other place in the city serves for free, and talked us into purchasing mineral water. Slovenes don’t tip but we still did but was still disappointed that he shouted an ironic thank you through the streets when already left.

Sehr freundlicher Service. Der Kellner sprach etwas Deutsch und war sehr lustig. Das Essen war gut, wir hatten hausgemachte Gnocchi mit Trüffel und als Vorspeise den typischen Schinken mit Käse und Oliven. Da wir relativ früh da waren, bekamen wir relativ leicht einen Platz. Ansonsten wirds schwer ohne Glück oder Reservierung.

We had a great dinner at Julija on Sunday. Great outdoor terrace and since one of the few spots open on Sunday, the place was hopping. Service was warm and friendly and the waiter helped us with great wine recommendations (and gave us a couple tastings for comparison). We started with the tuna tartar which was simple and amazing. The beef carpaccio was a great entree (I’d had a big lunch) and my husband enjoyed his salmon which had a great sear on it.
