Ho cenato da JAZ nel mese di maggio, è stata un’esperienza straordinaria, poiché con ingredienti semplici, adeguatamente valorizzati e trattati, ho assaporato pietanze emozionanti. Il locale è moderno, molto curato e pulito. Fin da subito vieni messo a tuo agio, un ambiente conviviale ove vieni invitato a suonare lo xilofono per entrare. Insomma, cominci col sorriso. Come antipasto ho preso il roastbeef, freschissimo e valorizzato da un’ottima riduzione, colorato dalla polvere di pomodoro e reso croccante dai semi di girasole. Come primo piatto invece ho mangiato il risotto alle fragole e formaggio di capra, un contrasto emozionante (purtroppo ho dovuto condividerlo con il mio commensale). Dolce e piccante, fresco ed accattivante. Consigliatissimo. Il piatto principale che ho scelto era il sandwich al pastrami: ho vissuto per anni negli Stati Uniti, e mai ne ho mangiato uno così buono! Si nota da subito che la carne utilizzata è di alta qualità, così come il trattamento effettuato sulla stessa: colore roseo brillante, freschezza artica. L’acidità della carne era adeguatamente bilanciata, piatto favoloso, anche abbondante. Riepilogando: esperienza fantastica, anche per chi di cibo non capisce molto, porzioni abbondanti per un ristorante di livello, prezzo adeguato a quello che mangi.

So, going to an Ana Roš Restaurant we obviously had expectations. The restaurant itself was looking nice and we got our table quickly. That is were the good part of this visit ends. We ordered 4 dishes plus bread. A pasta with adriatic calamari, seafood Portuguese style, Asparagus in brown butter and Black cod marinated in Miso and honey. The bread was the best of the dishes, as sad as that sounds. All dishes were extremely acidic to the point that you could not taste any of the ingredients anymore. The pasta was simply tasteless besides the acidity. The portuguese seafood had the same problem plus being undercooked. I tasted no asparagus whatsoever as the only thing that I could taste was the Miso foam and acidity. The poached egg that came with it was on point though. And last but not least the Black cod with swiss chard and spinach: The cod was way over salted, the swiss chard tasted only acidic and the spinach was completely tasteless. Needless to say, this was our worst restaurant visit in Ljubljana and we won’t be back. I really hope the kitchen just had a very bad day. We did get the drinks on the house but unfortunately, we struggled with the bad food for a while after leaving the restaurant.

Le jaz est un très bon restaurant mais un peu trop cher pour la prestation. La carte propose un choix trop disparate, une pièce de gibier à 38€ ou un schnitzel à 28€ pour les plats chauds par exemple. Autant vous dire qu'à ce prix, j'attendais d'être un minimum rassasié par ma pièce de gibier, qu'elle n'a pas été ma déception quand j'ai vu l'assiette arriver. Certes c'est très bon, mais il n'y a rien à se mettre sous la dent. Un tout petit peu de légume en guise d'accompagnement. 38€ ça passe mal ! En comparaison, le schnitzel était gigantesque, servit avec de la purée et une salade en accompagnement. J'ai pu manger 1/3 du schnitzel tellement il était disproportionné pour une seule personne. Mise à part ce point négatif, le service est impeccable, le vin est bon et la déco est belle.

Now, what can I say. We visited with my wife while in Ljubliana The tastes, all there; The staff, very friendly, very professional, very knowledgeable; the space, warm and comfortable. We had the Bruschetta, the Ceviche, the Risotto, the Cod and the Roe Buck. One after the other, the dishes were full of flavors, and very well thought out overall. Bonus points both for the amazing cocktails and the fresh and fragrant rose wine. Unfortunately no space was left in our stomachs for desert but we commit to visiting again and try out what we couldn't in our first visit. A big, warm, thank you to Ana, the kitchen and the service for this experience. Not to miss if in Ljubliana. I can't wait to visit Hišar Franko to get the full Ana Roš experience. Hvala!

Man merkt recht schnell, dass man hier in einem besonderen Restaurant ist: außergewöhnliche Architektur, modernes Design und das Personal in hübschen farbigen Jackets! Und auch was hier auf den Teller kommt, ist sehr kreativ und sorgt für feine Geschmackserlebnisse! Jedenfalls eine Empfehlung!!

Der Ableger von Ana Roš in Ljubljana im Bistro-Stil. Lustiger Einstieg zu Beginn, beim Eintritt in dass Restaurant: Man muss kurz ein persönlichen Song 🎶 auf einem Xylophon spielen um den Service auf sich aufmerksam zu machen. Im Anschluss wird man zum Tisch geleitet. Kurze Zusammenfassung: Die Sardinen waren der Hammer, das hausgemachte Brot ebenso. Die Interpretation eines Waldorf-Salates unglaublich lecker. Den Höhepunkt der Vorspeisen waren die gefüllten Tortellini mit Birnenmus. Hauptgänge wie Kabeljau mit Miso und Wiener Schnitzel mit Grapefruit waren sehr kreativ. Bei den Desserts waren die Štrukli unsere Favoriten. Top Empfehlung für Ljubljana

In the hidden part of center pf Ljubljana you can find boutique restaurant. It’s a lovely place, interior is calm and relaxing. I loved the opening address on menu. They don’t define themself as fine dinning nor bistro. I would say they are something in between. Starters were amazing, fusion of taste … perfect. As goes for the mail dish. Vegetable beside fish were to sour for my taste, it killed the rough taste of it, portion of the fish was quite small, pretty small, couldn’t be smaller 🤭. Clams were ok, but really nothing special. I was kind of disappointed over the main part od the food. Waiter recommended good wine, I liked that he to squat down to us when we ordered food, love that gesture.

Visited Jaz a couple of times and had the oportunity to try breakfast and lunch/dinner (same menu). The food is fenomenal as is the atmosphere of the place. The staff is quite casual and chatty, which makes quite a relaxed atmosphere. There's a sharing concept - dishes come on the table and everyone is encouraged to try and have some of each dish. For breakfast: Italian sandwich and Fake Benedict - both amazing. For lunch/dinner: Anna's salad is nice, English roastbeef is great (and plentiful), Vitello tonnato is amazing. All accompanied by sublime bread from Ana's bakery down the road. Pasta 'al limone is a brave take on lemony pasta, full of bold flavour. The breakfast experience will take you back about 30€, lunch maybe 90€ and full blown dinner around 150€ - of course depends on the number of dishes ordered. Try out the bar seating where you can watch the chef work the dishes and the plating, while chatting with them! Will visit again.

I booked this place days in advance with excitement and thrill about the experience and the fact that I’m visiting one of Ana Ros’s restaurant. Invited a foreigner person to the restaurant, giving him the hype of the new level of cousine you can find nowadays in Ljubljana (as to present myself as a good “host”). Unfortunately, the evening went in all directions, yet pleasant in no way. The waiter didn’t know the menu well, especially the wine list, yet when he had to serve us the wine, he made sure to open it away from us and him trying it first instead of us. But ok, we thought that was it, yet this was just the start. After we were told that our table can be reserved for 2h maximum, we finished waiting 1h35min to receive the main dish - being told by the kitchen that they have lost our “ticket”. Not to mention we had to ask the waiter where our food is, as so much time has already passed. From that point on, in order of 5min, we receive the main dishes, out of which 1 was completely burnt and salted too much (cod). The chef from the kitchen arrived to our table to apogize, explaining that they got confused by the orders, as 3 tables ordered completely the same dishes. How could you be confused by orders when there is the smallest menu possible with such small variety of dishes - I would assume people ordering the same thing would be a common not rare thing in a restaurant like this. Not to mention that the restaurant was small and at that evening wasn’t full. The restaurant carries a name “Me” by Ana Ros and I hope this was really a disastrous exception of what Ana Ros should really reflect.

JAZ tukaj jedel več ne bom. Lahko sem samo vesel, da sem bil povabljen, sicer bi bil verjetno še bolj kritičen do vsega. Value for money je pa itak pod nivojem! Čisto nobenega presežka od kuharice s tremi Michelin zvezdicami! Za moje pojme preveč ne prav posrečenih kombinacij. Ko je dunajski zrezek še najboljša jed med vsemi, kar smo probali, potem to veliko pove… ŽAL! Da ne omenjam vina, ker smo kar dvakrat ostali brez vina, ki smo ga pili, saj so imeli na zalogi samo po 3 flaše vsakega. Skratka precenjeno in daleč od vrhunskega.

Anything I'm going to write will detract from the amazing experience my girlfriend and I had at Jaz restaurant. My simple words just can't do justice to the skillful hands of the chef, the service and the sheer excellence of the restaurant. I wouldn't want to be lenghty with my review, so it's the most important to mention the excellent, resourceful and fast staff that served us. The food, which is of course in the foreground, was impeccable. Everything I ate (for starter English roast beef, main "new york pastrami sandwich") and my girlfriend (for starter bruschetta with tuna and main "tortellini with pear") was spectacular. By playing with the flavors of salty and sweet, hot and cold dishes, they created a special experience. The sorbets we ate for dessert have a special taste, each one incredible in its own way. The wine list is wide, there is an option for everyone, I drank the Slovenian Burja Reddo, an unfiltered wine with a deep, rich flavor. I could write more lines and lines, but the main thought is that the Jaz restaurant is an amazing restaurant with excellent food, phenomenal service and a beautiful interior. It has never been easier for me to write a nice review. Simply thank you to everyone involved in the restaurant. Spectacular.

First class restaurant with first class food and service. It may be a tad pricey, but you definately get your money's worth relative to quality. I cannot imagine anything they make would be anything but excellent.
