We went here twice. Both times the food was amazing. The ambience is great. Service was great the first time, but the second time it was not. That’s the only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars. The second time the waiter forgot drinks. Forgot what we ordered. And after watching people who were seated after us get their food before us, it was clear he forgot to put in our order, as we waited far longer for our food than those around us. Other than that I highly recommend Breg.

The food was above average, nicely presented and tasty. Pork was very nicely done, flavorful, not dried out and overall of high quality. Beef was tender, tasty and nicely rounded. The cheese plate was good, albeit a tad small for the price (just enough for two as a very limited starter). The service on the other hand was not of the quality and standard of a fine dining establishment. If we go out with friends and only some have main dishes, you don't empty the table of other food that was not yet eaten. That is just needlessly wasteful. A plate of cheese should stay on the table until it is empty. Asking if you can take the plate while already having it in your hand isn't really asking, now is it. Normally I let these things slide, since you can't demand perfection from everyone, however this restaurant has implemented tipping. If you are importing American models for tipping and service, you should also import the quality of the service. Saying that tipping is not required in the same way as whisking unfinished food away from the table, doesn't technically make it required. It does however make it socially questionable to deviate from the expected response. In other words -> There are a lot of different places in Ljubljana that serve the same quality food and won't leave you feeling "off" with their demeanor. While I feel bad for the cooks that make good food, I can't in good conscious recommend a place that so clearly wants to jack up prices without at least trying to better it's quality of service. For the restaurant: Don't import American models if you don't want to put in the work those models require. We have laws regarding wages and tipping should not be the primary motivator for servers to do a good job.

Restaurante con terraza en una de las dos calles peatonales paralelas al Ljubljanica, el río que atraviesa la ciudad. En las noches de verano es muy agradable estar sentado allí, aunque los mosquitos pueden hacer acto de presencia. El servicio muy atento y amable. Las porciones bien, pero nos pareció algo caro. La pasta casera con requesón ahumado tenía sabor, pero estaba nadando en mantequilla y un poco pasada de cocción. Los otros platos sin embargo muy buenos todos. Sirven pan con aceite de oliva para picar de forma gratuita mientras llegan los platos.
