Our first night in the area. Really nice meal in the harbour at this stylish restaurant with less British tourists than elsewhere. I am one of them, but don’t tell anyone. I had the two course set for 39 euro with a delicious but very small beef tartar and we both had the grilled octopus which was as expected. Although I picked the restaurant, my wife picked best. She ordered outside the set menu and her gnocchi with burrata is worth coming back for.

I am a solo female traveler and ate here for lunch. The service was impeccable with at least 3 different people attentive to service. They let me pick my table and advised me which options would stay shady. The atmosphere is lovely, and the food was super tasty. The restaurant is across from the ferry stop.

Portions are a joke and have no heart in them. We paid 125 EUR for 2 adults and a child, and we were still hungry. We ended up going to another restaurant to "complete" dinner.

Le Bugenvila est un charmant restaurant qui se situe en bord de mer dans le centre de Cavtat. La terrasse extérieure est ombragée et la décoration est sympa. Du chèvrefeuille et des bougainvilliers agrémentent le lieu. Les plats proposés sont de qualité avec de bons produits. Pour ce déjeuner, nous avons pris des canapés, une salade de crevettes et des gnocchis à l'asperge. Tout était bon. On peut juste reprocher que les quantités des plats sont vraiment petites au regard du prix. On paie donc l'emplacement.

We hebben dit restaurant gekozen op basis van de Michelin gids. Heel lekker gegeten, de oesters waren lekker en verrassend. De vis was helaas te droog gegrild, die kon beter. De angus steak daarentegen smolt op de tong, perfecte cuisson! Mooie wijnkaart met goede Kroatische wijnen en enkele Franse. De bediening was heel hartelijk en professioneel.

Delicioso! Es una de las mejores experiencias de comida que he tenido hasta el momento. Las raciones no eran muy grandes pero al final te quedabas lleno, y estaba todo muy muy bueno, cocinado con mucho mimo. La opción del "set menu" sale bien de precio (179 kn, unos 23 euros), aunque hay que decir que las bebidas son caras. Me gustó mucho todo lo que probé, la comida era de buena calidad. El personal fue muy amable, nos explicaban cada uno de los platos. Como pega, solo se puede comer en terraza (al parecer esto es lo habitual en el paseo marítimo de Cavtat), el interior del local solo tenía la cocina y la zona donde estaban los camareros; eso sí, ofrece vistas bonitas.

Went for a family dinner (4 people) at Bugenvila recently after we tried drinks and canapés a few days prior (we had to go back they were so good). We reserved the table, they do allow walk-in’s but I would recommend reserving. The service was amazing, and the food even better! We got canapés once again, also had oysters, and 2 fish for the table (red scorpion, and turbot). The fish tasted amazing, and the waiters carved and prepared the fish for us. The chef even gave us a complimentary side as we waited for the fish to arrive. Can’t fault the service, food or atmosphere, truly a 10/10 experience. Starters and main were so good, we had to stay for desert! Best cheesecake my family and I have ever had. Very memorable experience, and best meal we’ve had all holiday! Thank you Bugenvila!!!
