Sehr gutes Essen, nicht gerade billig aber es zahlt sich aus rein zu gehen. Tolles Ambiente vor allem für m hinteren Bereich und im Gastgarten. Reservierung empfehlenswert. Fisch und Meeresfrüchte sehr lecker. Preis/Leistung voll okay.

We went in one day during the week to get some fish and chips, but the fish and chips part was full. The server for that part of the restaurant suggested we go into Novi Svet to sit down and order from there. So we made our way a few feet down to Novi Svet. The waiter was exceedingly polite, sat us down at a nice table, lit a candle, and explained the menu, explaining in minute detail how the most expensive dishes were the best. Great, but we just wanted fish and chips, we told him. But that wasn't the right thing to say. Our friendly waiter immediately became cold and distant and begrudgingly accepted to bring us our sub-$10-euro fish and chips plate. But the food did come after 20 minutes, and to our surprise, it looked great. There was white fried fish with a delicious-looking salad and fries. Unfortunately, the food was extremely bland. The fish meat was watery and tasteless, and I don't know how you can make a salad look so good but still taste like sour lettuce. The fries tasted like potatoes - boiled, tasteless potatoes. We would have gotten the same experience going to the corner store, buying last week's lettuce, and boiling some white rice and potatoes. This restaurant is a joke and a waste of time. Unfortunately, tasteless food served with a sour attitude is the norm in these parts. Learn how to do business.

So we read several reviews about the menu having 'changed' to screw tourists and I definitely was aggressive with the grumpy waiter about getting the 'old' one, but he insisted there was none, so we nearly left. But after deciding to stay, we were treated to a wonderful meal with a slightly unpleasant waiter. 600g of fresh grilled fish with a side for 25€, a starter for 10€ and 500ml of house wine for 6€-we admittedly weren't very hungry, but we left entirely stuffed! The fish was perfectly done, the place was full of locals, and the restaurant itself was cute if a bit kitschy. I even snuck a look at the Slovene menu and confirmed the prices were the same. Not the cheapest option in town, but not unreasonable and definitely not a tourist trap!
