Whoever is interested in etnography (with a special accent on Slovenia), will be happy to visit. The exposition also contains furniture designed by the architect Josip Plečnik - this was the most interesting part for me (but this is really very personal choice). The building is situated in former army barracks, quite a remarkable reconstruction/redefintion deed from an architectural viewpoint. Parking places, with moderate pay, available in the streets in immediate vicinity. Alltogether a nice place, in particular on a rainy day :-)

Great setup, we were in the museum for 2 hours, I had a feeling that I saw only the half of it. Great experience for kids. All generations actually.

Il museo è interessantissimo, qui si trova l'ultimo zoppolo, l'imbarcazione usata a Trieste dai pescatori di Santa Croce. Vasto repertorio degli abiti tipici degli sloveni del Litorale, raccolta di foto delle aleksandrinke, le ragazze slovene della Valle del Vipacco e della zona attorno a Gorizia che andarono in Egitto a lavorare. Inoltre ci sono i tipici dipinti sulle arnie, che si ispirano alle leggende slovene come quella del re Mattia. Da visitate assolutamente.

Ten stars! Great museum, must see. Mainly about Slovenian culture and social history. Most museums in Lubljiana are free entry on the first Sunday of every month.

The surroundings are dangerous (very popular narco place) where cases of kids being spiked by used needles were reported. Don't go there by night. And the municipality seems to support narco gatherings, as nearby they will be building a new and cosy narco methadon centre. Bravo! The museums themselves are, well, ok. Nothing to shout about and hurry visit, but it's an ok experience. But this place could be soooo much nicer and good looking if they would do one very simple thing. Just like in Paris for example: simply put high fences around those few entry points. Is this so hard or what? Seems like the management of this place fell asleep or they just don't care about safety, and the interior surroundings of the place being so badly deteriorated because of the "nightlife" (and shameless daylife as weell happening there - people taking a needle out there in the open) ... But I heard those parents will seek court action, so I guess something really bad needs to happen for things to move from a dead point.
