It's small, and the content isn't all that interesting. You'll need the Dubrovnik pass to gain entry, which is fine. If this museum was outside of the city walls, it definitely would not be worth paying solely to see it.

This was included within the Dubrovnik Pass otherwise I would probably not seek it out to visit. It's quite small, one long room, however the Maritime museum in Split is actually far superior. Whilst there is plenty of information to read about Dubrovnik's seafaring past, there aren't that many physical exhibits. A number of items are displayed recovered from shipwrecks under the sea. I did like the collection of old atlases and interesting to see the trade routes used for different commodities. Visit if you have a three or seven day Dubrovnik pass as it's included.

Le musée est très petit et moyen sans plus. Pas suffisamment intéressant pour tolérer l'attitude hostile du personnel. La dame à l'accueil ne comprenait pas un mot d'anglais et s'impatientait alors que je prenais mes tickets. Je cherchais la suite de la visite et une dame nous a littéralement crié dessus - moi et d'autres visiteurs pourtant gentils- parce qu'on ne comprenait pas sa réponse... Si ce n'est pas dans le pass, ne vous gâchez pas la journée.

Musée compris dans le Dubrovnik Pass. Il est très petit (45min max si vous lisez tous les panneaux explicatifs). C'est super intéressant car ça retrace l'histoire du commerce maritime de la ville de Dubrovnik. Vous y admirerez de magnifiques maquettes de bateaux, ainsi que divers objets et des cartes anciennes.

Als je de Dubrovnik pass hebt gekocht dan zit dit museum er gewoon in. Het museum was zeer interessant en zeker een aanrader voor iedereen die meer wilt weten over de nautische geschiedenis van Dubrovnik. We hebben hier toch wel zeker 40 minuten kunnen rondlopen en kijken naar de interessante informatie.

We found this a bit difficult to find, and only realised later it was above the old wall in Dubrovnik. There were a few items of interest, but we thought there was a lot more the curators could do to increase the information available, such as stories of particular seamen. Entrance fee is included in the Dubrovnik pass, otherwise we would not have visited.

I had low expectations after reading several online reviews complaining about the small size of the museum, but my wife and I both found it fascinating, especially the first floor which focused on the 350 years when Dubrovnik was an independent republic and had one of the largest merchant fleets in the world. Lots of interesting artifacts recovered from sunken ships and models of the various sailing vessels. Also, there is a nice coffee place at the bottom of the stairs approaching the museum entrance (Cogito Coffee).

Rude member of staff. She interrupted me and tried to preemptively answer my question, when I tried to clarify if she'd answered the question I wanted to ask or something else (since she didn't let me finish), she replied "I just told you". I immediately left.
