Mystische frühromanische Kirche (6 Jh. AC) mit spätrömischen Mosaiken. Die Kirche ist ein Kultort und befindet sich unmittelbar neben dem Wiederaustritt vom unterirdischen Flussteil des Karstflusses. Magischer Ort schon zu Römerzeit. Im Nahbwreich hat es unterhalb der Bahnlinie noch einen Tempel des Mythraskultes. Wunderbare Garten- und Parkanlage im Nahbereich.

An old and fairly simple, unadorned, but all the more beautiful church. The sign opposite the main entrance explains the history in Italian, Slovene, and English. What's really unusual is the apse, which leaves the foundations of previous buildings out in the open, with the natural mud and groundwater signifying the proximity to the fountain of the river Timavo, which springs out of the rock here after having made its subterranean way from Slovenia.
