Nous avons loué une voiture pour 1 semaine à l'aéroport. La jeune femme qui nous a accueilli était adorable malgré notre arrivée tardive avec notre vol. La voiture est toute neuve et très agréable. Nous avons eu une super expérience et nous recommandons cette agence les yeux fermés ! :)

I recently rented a car from AVAX Rental Car at Split Airport and returned it to Split Downtown. I kept the car for three days, and overall, the experience was very positive. The reservation process was relatively simple. A few days before the rental started, I received an email asking me to complete the online check-in, which I found very helpful to get all the paperwork out of the way in advance. About two days before my arrival, I also received a WhatsApp message from an AVAX agent at Split Airport, informing me where they would be waiting and asking me to send them a message upon arrival so they could come pick us up. Everything worked exactly as planned. To my surprise, they even gave me a car that was better and more comfortable than the one I had originally booked. The staff provided detailed instructions and were very attentive throughout the process. I had opted for the premium insurance — which I highly recommend — and I’m glad I did. At some point, while the car was parked, a small dent appeared on the door caused by a third party, which I hadn’t noticed. Thanks to the premium insurance, there were no issues or extra charges when I returned the vehicle. The return process was also smooth. AVAX asked me to contact their Split Downtown team an hour before bringing the car back, which I did. However, there were a couple of points where the experience could be improved. First, when returning the car, it wasn’t immediately clear where exactly we should park. We ended up entering the Riva parking area in Split and had to pay for parking while figuring out where AVAX was located. Once we found them, we were told to go to the very end of the lot, but by then, we had already paid for the parking ticket. My suggestion would be for AVAX to share a precise Google Maps location pin for their exact spot in the parking lot — that would save customers unnecessary stops and confusion. Second, when the attendant came to meet us, it wasn’t obvious that he was from AVAX. While he eventually identified himself, a more visible AVAX badge, a branded shirt with larger lettering, or even a simple sign saying “AVAX – Car Return Here” would make the process easier and clearer. These are only small suggestions for improvement. Overall, the service was excellent, the car was in great condition, and the entire process — from pickup to return — was efficient and stress-free. I would definitely rent from AVAX again for the comfort, attention to detail, and practicality they provided.

Having mixed feelings about this rental company. Getting the car was quite a bad experience: the person who was getting us at the airport was late, signing the papers took a long time, the car was dirty (which meant waiting even longer for it to be cleaned). Not what we expected given the price. Returning the car was very smooth and efficient though.

Fantastic service, I booked a car online from Australia, used the online chat feature, Ante was very prompt and helpful. The price was clearly outlined with no hidden costs, I did not need to pay upfront and I was emailed the price I needed to pay on pickup of vehicle. Ante delivered the car to my Hotel which was extremely helpful, the car was almost brand new, very friendly staff.

Everything worked fine, no hidden fees. I read about a lot of shady car rental businesses in Croatia, but this one seems to be operating according to the agreed terms. At least for us there were no expensive surprises waiting during the car return procedure. The lady from the office even gave us a ride with our formerly rented car to the airport, which we definitely appreciated and it saved my family a 10 minute walk to the airport. Croatia is in general not a cheap vacation destination, but for us Swiss customers we did find their prices fair.

Pros - Car itself was lovley. No issues and car ran perfectly - an airport pickup was offered the day before as the office is a few mins drive away from the airport Cons - Biggest issue was Avax tried to give me a mini van instead of a car. I picked a "renault megane" or similar and they said a mini van was the same category as that car. The car lot was full of other cars but they said it was all booked and couldn't give me what I had originally booked. I kicked up a fess and they ended up finding an SUV/4x4 instead. - They tried to sneakily add an extra €10 up charge but luckily I showed the email which had the original price and they quickly changed it back. The charge was for a car upgrade but see my comment above so it didn't make sense. - A deposit return takes 30 days which seems really long.

Avax rent a car agency based in Split, Croatia really deserves a review. So let's go. I had the privilege of renting their vehicle twice. The first time 7 months ago and the second time a few days ago. Their website is my first encounter with this agency, simple, clear, understandable and functional. Pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and details. After booking the vehicle online, I receive emails with all the necessary information. An employee "Marija" contacts me on WhatsApp and we continue further arrangements and communication through that application. Although my flight was delayed for an hour after landing, I receive a message from her that she is waiting for me right next to the airport with the vehicle. Marija's pleasant, professional, but also friendly approach leaves no room for me to ever use another agency again. Perfect car, perfect service, perfect employees. All recommendations. Positive experience which I can only describe with chosen words.
