The location itself is good, it is quiet and easy to reach by car if you want to pass by once the boat is on the dry. The smaller boat shed is not a in good condition, doors can apparently fall out in high winds (according to marina Planais workers), concrete floor is cracked in many places and holes covered with metal plates, this shed has not seen maintenance for many many years. Our copper coat was damaged by the boat transport vehicle, but marina Planais stated the copper coat was incorrectly applied, refused to repair the damage. Boat had been out of the water 4 times after copper coat was installed, never had any damage. So if you end up with damage, expect this marina to simply say they are not responsible. Money is more important to them than excellence. The person doing the scheduling, Daniela, is a complete nightmare. You can write her 10.000 e-mails stating when you need to go back into the water, it does not register with her, she will do her own thing and ultimately cause trouble for you. Although we stated in 6 e-mails when the boat had to be back in the water, she sent us the 8 page contract without those dates included. When we were at marina Planais she filled in a date, but changed the date without telling us and asked for a signature on the 8 page contract. Then she stated that we had signed and that our boat could not come out of the shed on the date we had told her we had to be in the water. I had to hire a lawyer in order to get the boat out of the shed in time. Even when the lawyer stated he would take marina Planais to court, Daniela kept refusing, but luckily the director was more willing to solve the situation. We were not the only boat that had this problem. The boat behind us in the shed needed to put the engines back in the boat, but since they were in the back of the shed that could not be done. Owner came to me to ask when we were going out of the shed so he could get his boat out as well. He was not a happy camper. Daniela simply does whatever she wants, so be warned. Work safety only exists on paper however in this yard. Unschooled labor is the norm and they have no grasp of work safety. They stick up their middle finger to you as a customer and flat out refuse to step outside the shed when they are caught smoking inside. Had to get the management involved and the personnel then stated I should have asked politely not to smoke in the shed. Smoking in the boat shed, while working with flamable and explosive liquids with no ventilation in the shed, running engines with the doors closed, anything goes. I found a handful of cigarette butts and an empty pack of cigarettes below my boat, handed them over to mangagement, they did not seem to mind nor care. We paid for hull cleaning, but the standard of marina Planais is the lowest we have ever encountered. It was pointed out to them, but they simply claimed it could not be cleaned, required different type of cleaning. How refreshing was it when I came to a different marina (a D-Marin marina) only 1 month later for a scheduled maintenance haul out. Guys at the crane saw the old dirty spots on the hull and simply asked if they should take it off. Took them 5 minutes to clean what marina Planais claimed was impossible to clean. Long story short, if you need a place where your boat can be inside for the winter and you have zero expectations then this place may be for you. If you want other jobs to be done don't expect top quality and it will be necessary to micro manage them at all cost. They have proven they are incapable of working on their own. Am pretty sure the management will now write a reaction, claiming none of the above is true. However, I have pictures and video of everything. Working in the aviation industry for many decades installs a sense of work and flight safety in a person. So, for us this was once and never again. One positive note however. On the premises is also a sail repair shop, very friendly and capable people. They did some quick repair work for us and did a great job.
