Tamara and Janko and the nicest people you can meet, we had absolutely wonderful time here. Except for these two warmest people, also the views are breathtaking, rooms are nice and breakfast are delicious. We also visited many wineries in Brda region, but we tasted the best natural wines at Kmetija Štekar - you can also agree to have natural wine degustation.

B&b in cui abbiamo soggiornato nei nostri giri sul Collio. Vecchio casolare ristrutturato molto bene, stanze e bagni accoglienti e puliti, colazione ottima con prodotti fatti in casa da loro. Nota d’onore: per le mani e per i capelli ci sono piccole saponette fatta in casa da un produttore locale. Assolutamente ecosostenibili. Super consigliato! Ps: accettano volentieri i cani.

This is a really special family winery run by Tamara and Janko. My wife and I were fortunate enough to have a tasting with Tamara who sat down with us and spent over an hour taking us through the history of the winery and the philosophy of their winemaking. We also went for a lovely walk through the vineyards. The wine is fantastic - it’s true minimum intervention without the pretentiousness of many modern “natural wine” labels. Macerated white wines are their speciality, with Rebula, Malvasia and Tokaj (Friullano) being the standouts. We unfortunately didn’t stay at the winery, but they have a lovely B&B with a breathtaking view of the Brda hills and villages including Smartno. I would highly recommend anyone who is visiting Goriska Brda to say hello to Tamara and Janko.

Incredible natural wine and a breathtaking view from the rooms! I watched a thunderstorm roll in and out of the area from the comfort of the chairs on the balcony. Tamara and Janko are very helpful, welcoming and passionate about wine and it feels quite special to be so close to the Italian border, cycling back and forth between Italy and Slovenia (we were on bikes!) and exploring.

I had the chance to taste their “Re Pico” 2016 natural orange wine. It was amazing. At first it left me a little disoriented but then I appreciated all its complex structure. Hopefully one day I will also go to visit their vineyard and cellar.

This place is absolutely unique. It’s run by very passionate couple Janko and Tamara. All though we stayed there in the end of the season, we were met with absolute kindness and wonderful breakfast with homemade and local products. Quiet and beautiful area.

We had the chance to do a wine tasting in the late afternoon. The owner took the time to describe the region, the terroir and all the aspects of their work. If you want to learn more about natural wine while watching an amazing sunset, this is the place to be !
