Since 1893, Sant’Elena winery has been dedicated to the art of winemaking, focusing on the pursuit of taste, meticulous vineyard care, and the joy of savoring an exceptional glass of wine. Located in the scenic region of Italy, we proudly offer a diverse selection of both red and white wines.
The journey of producing our exquisite wines begins in the vineyard. We ensure our grapevines receive the utmost care, including proper irrigation, fertilization, pruning, and pest management. The timing of the grape harvest plays a crucial role in the quality of the wine; ensuring grapes are ripe at the right moment is essential.
After harvesting, the grapes are crushed to extract the must, which is the juice used for fermentation. This crucial transformation converts the sugars in the must into alcohol and carbon dioxide, a process that can extend from a few days to several weeks, heavily influenced by the type of wine being crafted.
Once fermentation is complete, we clarify the wine to eliminate impurities through various methods such as decantation and filtration. Following clarification, the wine undergoes aging in either wooden or stainless-steel vessels, a phase where it develops its unique aromas and flavors, with durations varying from months to years.
Finally, the wine is bottled and allowed to rest for a brief period before being made available to our customers. Each year, we produce around 100,000 bottles, embodying our commitment to quality.
We invite you to visit us and experience the rich tradition and craftsmanship behind our wines. Company visits can be scheduled by appointment.
